My Dog of 9 years age. Dachshund mix with Chihuahua. Was treated here very greatly. They took they're time and worked with my dog very excellent. The price was worth it. I took him for his spinal injury. As well as the hospitality and the workers were great and you are comfortable as you are waiting. Including the people/parents of other dogs are very polite and well mannered.

Thank you so much for putting an end to Prince suffering today and putting him to sleep. Thank you for being so compassionate and caring and for not charging a dime. God bless you all and your business 🙏

I can’t thank everyone at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists enough for the compassion and kindness they showed during one of the hardest moments of my life. Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking, but the care and empathy from the entire team made an unbearable day a little easier. Receiving this handwritten sympathy card meant more to me than words can express. Every personal message reminded me that they truly care—not only about their patients, but also about the families who love them. It’s rare to find a team that combines exceptional medical care with such genuine compassion. Thank you for treating us with dignity, respect, and kindness. I will always remember your support and would wholeheartedly recommend Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists to anyone looking for a veterinary team that truly cares. Thank you for everything. We will never forget your kindness. ❤️

Sugar Land Vet. Specialists is amazing. It was a 34 mile drive for me but we'll worth it. I previously took my dog to Gulf Coast ER and the experience was night and day. I felt like we truly mattered. Please bring your pet here. The Dr. was so kind and patient, and we were never rushed. What a refreshing change to the other place.

We will never forget the 30 hours that saved our dog's life — and we owe it all to the incredible team at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists. Four days ago, our 12‑year‑old dog, Milk Tea, was in critical condition. She had a high fever, refused to eat, and her bloodwork showed that her kidneys were on the verge of failure. On top of that, she had pre‑existing conditions involving her heart, liver, and pancreas. Our primary vet, Dr. Luo, strongly urged us to bring her to Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists for emergency care — and that decision made all the difference. We are immensely grateful to Dr. Anderson, Dr. Water, and every staff member who cared for Milk Tea with such expertise and compassion. Over the course of 30 intense hours, they performed multiple tests and provided the very best treatment based on their deep medical knowledge. They also took the time to walk our family through every step — explaining progress, analyzing options, and offering clear guidance. Despite being incredibly busy, they never made us feel rushed; their warmth and communication gave our family enormous emotional support during the most terrifying moments. Those 30 hours were the most critical window, and they delivered the most timely and professional care imaginable. Now, just four days later, the vast majority of Milk Tea's blood values have returned to normal. For a senior dog with acute kidney failure, multiple failing markers, and underlying chronic conditions, this feels like nothing short of a miracle. Milk Tea is now back home, resting and slowly regaining her strength with our whole family by her side. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you — for saving her life, and for giving us more precious time together.

Do not go to this place ! My friend’s cat died after waiting 2 hours for nothing. Their cat was not doing well. They came in around 5:30pm and for some reason they did a shift change at that time (When everyone gets off work). The front desk lady was trying to get the staff in the back to come look at their cat, yet they waited for an extremely long time. The vet techs there don’t care and are extremely slow. After almost 2 hours of waiting…their cat died. Despite being at an emergency clinic, there was little sense of urgency from the staff in the back. And they had the audacity to come out and try to blame the front desk lady after she tried to get their attention multiple times. After that they made them pay $450 to cremate the cat. All because of their negligence. And let me guess this business will not be able to verify the visit. Do not go to this place!!

Came in because my dog had a seizure they would not do anything on my pet without me paying even though they said they would do lab work but then they were worried about taking a payment for stuff they have not done to him even though payment was not an issue. WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER.

Brought my cat in today as she was panting and acting very out of character. Thankfully, nothing ended up being wrong with her but we are extremely happy with the extreme detail and care they gave our fluffy girl in ensuring they crossed all T’s and dotted all I’s with her health. Every employee we interacted with was extremely helpful and caring. Will definitely make this our urgent care in case anything ever goes south again with any of our fur babies.

I arrived here yesterday at 9am and did not leave until 345pm. My vet was Dr. Vasquez who I thought did a great job with our pup. However, his tech made things worse on top of the news i had gotten. Victoria was great when we first got there but by the end of the day she was extremely rude. It was very clear she did not want to deal with us. My little girl and I waited very patiently over 6 hrs and that's how we get treated by the end of it? Not ok.

Continued excellent care of my pup. They have beautifully cared for my dogs for over 20 years including big surgeries. Across the board the care and service has been exceptional.

They took great care of Betty Boo, she had a procedure done by another place and was having issues. They fixed her up and understood our situation and helped us out. Love them!!

They did alright but god they milk your money. They even considered the entire memorial Day weekend a holiday and tact on a charge Sunday night before actual memorial Day. Spent 700+ for an IV basically

My dog fell off the bed and wasn’t able to walk. We realized it was a neurological issue and chose this clinic. Everyone was very caring and kind. They gave concise estimates and I even got a refund since they didn’t use all the deposit. I was called quickly after each procedure and not left waiting to hear something. Turns out my puppy, bruised his spinal cord, but should make a full recovery. I can highly, highly recommend this Vet clinic for any of your Specialist needs. Don’t question it just come here!

In an unfortunate turn of events we had to take our loved one for an emergency ultrasound. We were referred to this hospital. Upon arrival we were provided a room and a tech came to assist. Some plans were laid out on best course of action as our pup was in dire pain. We were also given some options and it was pretty substantial as expected for an emergency. We proceeded even though it was way out of our price range but we wanted to give our pup her best chance and not regret. Unfortunately the prognosis was not good. Many issues emerged as other vet clinics were not equipped to do such tests. Having spoke on the phone with Dr Arnold about best path forward and comfort options. It was the most painful decision we had ever had to make as our pup was in so much pain we could not be selfish. The hospital was very accommodating and we arrived that night to have our loved one pass on while we comfort her. I want to thank the Dr, staff and team for taking care of Bella. Her last moments appear to be happy.

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care and the people who cared for my sweet Mini. We came to them in an emergency with Mini, who was in immense pain, and I walked in desperately wanting there to be some way to fix everything. I was probably still in denial and clinging to hope that there had to be another procedure or another option available. What I appreciated so deeply was that they did not take advantage of that desperation. They could have easily continued down a path of multiple procedures, tests, and expenses, but instead they were honest, thoughtful, and compassionate about Mini's condition and prognosis. They took the time to carefully guide me toward the decision that was ultimately in Mini's best interest and centered around his quality of life. I unfortunately cannot remember the name of the Vet Tech who helped us because I was completely in a daze. I wish I could, though, because she was absolutely incredible. She was kind, patient, thoughtful, and helped put me at ease during one of the hardest moments of my life. Dr. Anderson was also amazing. She was so patient, gentle, and compassionate throughout everything. She helped Mini finally find peace and comfort, and although I desperately wish she could have given us years together, I respect and appreciate her honesty more than I can put into words. The thing that stood out to me most was that although they only knew me and Mini for a couple of hours, I genuinely felt that they cared about him as much as I did. I could see that their hearts hurt too. Thank you for treating Mini with dignity, kindness, and love during his final moments. I will never forget it.

I’m beyond grateful for the life saving urgent care I received for my cat Duncan! Shout out to Dr. Kathryn Rhue DVM in Critical Care - I’m indebted to you for life! Amanda, Dr . Wilkins, and so many more that I don’t have the names of, you are real hero’s and your work doesn’t go unnoticed. This place will always be my first intervention in any pet emergency. The team of specialty vets I encountered are exceptional and incredibly thorough in addition to the supportive care team. Even the front desk was kind and efficient with granting access to emergency care Duncan required in the moment.

We have been in excellent and compassionate hands from all the members of Morty’s oncology team. We couldn’t be more grateful after an unexpected diagnosis of lymphoma. We were presented with all options of treatment and time to take it all in before making a decision. Morty is doing well after his first treatment and we plan on taking a bucket list trip with him over the next week. Thank you so much for your kind expertise, Dr. Novosad and team! Sincerely, Morty’s mom

Do not allow your pet to receive surgery through the Emergency clinic at SLVS (although through the regular surgery department is fine, wait and don’t let the emergency vets operate on your pet). My sweet dog died immediately when the emergency vet and tech gave anesthesia. The amount of propofol given was different in 3 different documents provided by the vet and tech who were involved. Chat GPT says any of those 3 doses in addition to the other drugs they gave would have severely overdosed my dog. Chat said particularly the first dose written by the tech that we saw before they changed the amounts on subsequent docs. My dog wasn’t very old and by their own admission she wasn’t very ill and could have waited. I have just been so sick that I trusted this woman vet and woman tech who told me they had doubts about the regular surgery team and they themselves had to rescusitate for the regular team. Clearly they were just selling and I believed it. I wish I had used the regular surgery team and should have waited for them, or gone to my own vet. They were selling and I fell for it costing my sweet baby’s life. Don’t be fooled by confident talk by the emergency room vets. It’s just talk! I regret so deeply that I was gullible. They are not surgeons. They are plain vets.

We took Raven in to the Sugarland Vet Specialist 24hr🐾🏥ER for vomiting 🤮 (thinking we would come back with nausea meds), & came home w/no dog! Always trust your instincts when you think your pet is sick! It turns out my baby was VERY sick! & it sounds like she has been for a bit. I chalked it up to us being out of town, she’s tired, allergies, it’s in my head. Apparently she has Pancreatitis and a very good chance of having Cushing disease (this is still un-confirmed pending tests but it’s looking like it). This is our first time coming here, and trust me I am Very particular when it comes to my kids. They have been very nice. Explained everything, gave an estimate (which whatever I just want my baby better- but I get it can be difficult financially). I even changed my mind about not doing X-rays, and they were fine with that, which turned out good because they needed an ultrasound instead. Once it was determined she was going to get admitted, I had A Lot of questions & they happily showed me where she would be (in the ICU☹️). They said we could visit- but I don’t want to traumatize my baby by coming & leaving her again. The Vet(day/night shift both) & techs have maintained communication via phone, and I have also called a few times. I can say so far I am very impressed with the professionalism, cleanliness, KINDNESS/CARE that I have seen.

I was at SLVS this past Saturday with my baby and was absolutely terrified, but I was met with some of the kindest people. Johnah at the front desk was so sweet and personable, she even recommended a place for me to eat so I could try to calm my nerves while my baby was being treated. That small gesture meant so much. The care we received was absolutely worth both the price and the wait. Dr. Panelli and the technicians were wonderful, compassionate, and took great care of my baby. I’m so grateful for the entire team.

I truly don’t have the words to explain just how spectacular the team is here. My dog, Poppy, thought it would be a good idea to eat one of my mother’s prescription NSAIDs, which was like 15x the dosage for a dog her size. We took her to the ER and the wait to be seen was less than 10 minutes. Dr. Anderson was great explaining everything and collaborating with the ASPCA poison control on a treatment plan. My girl need to be hospitalized for the next 4 days and we were assigned to Dr. Rhue and Amanda (LVT) with the critical care team. They took such great care of my girl, kept me informed with texts and phone calls throughout the day everyday, and supporting me in every way possible during such a difficult time. They worked with me and my financial restraints to make sure Poppy still got the greatest top of the line care. I could go on and on. I am forever grateful to Dr. Rhue, Amanda, and everyone at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists & ER!

We took our dog for a neurological appointment. Dr Emily DuPont was wonderful! She was so kind, and understanding. She listened to our concerns and gave us a solution. The nurses are also wonderful! Don’t base your opinion on other people’s reviews, but go give them a chance instead because they are amazing. 👏🏻

Too bad there are not negative star options or Sugarland Veterinary "ER Specialists" would be receiving too many to count. The conclusion of my HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE with Sugar Land Vet "ER Specialists" is that they promote unethical business practices plus they are a racket against humanity. If you truly love your pet and want to save your pet and expect straight up answers PLEASSSSE stay away from this place. It was hands down the ultimate worst and most unethical and unprofessional experience of my life. I have never dealt with more incompetence. The "ER vet" we met with was sooooo shady. I knew more than he did and I had to question his answers and ethics. If you want inconsistency in getting an answer by asking a simple question - the exact same question - more than once then this is the place to go when your beloved pet is dying. They truly have no compassion for animals at all. It is strictly all business and making an extra buck. I was appalled at just how low they would go to make an extra buck. What a waste of time and $$$. They are comparable to a sleezy car salesman in a lab coat. Can they not read their own Xray? 1st they charge you an arm and a leg to take the Xray... then they have to send it out for a $200 fee to have someone read it for them? Did they only get a partial degree where teaching how to read Xrays was omitted? Why do they waste time and $ retaking Xrays and bloodwork you already have proof of? I will tell you exactly why... Again ~ This place is a racket against humanity and should be ashamed of themselves. Their so called ER is a joke and I am not laughing. They were so disorganized for lack of a stronger word. They called me to confirm received information from my primary vet and to bring my pet to ER then when arrive they have no paperwork on my pet at all. What kind of ER does this? No bedside manner whatsoever. No knowledge = just a guessing game even with test results right in front of their face. They played spin the wheel game on my dime and heartache/devastation. Everything was about $$$$$$ = Add on this test add on that test and still no definitive answers. They bold face lied to me. Had they had their way I would have had to sign over my house to pay what they wanted and I am positive they would have come back for more and still no answers. When we left there after dropping a ton of $$$ we knew nothing new. My primary who is not a specialist - as this place advertises - knew more than they did. I expected more from a so called ER Vet Specialist. PLEASSSSE READ all the bad reviews 1st. Those reviews outweigh the good in how this place "takes care of" your pet in dire need of help. In conclusion Sugar Land Vet ER Specialists are not in the business to save animals. Sugar Land Vet ER Specialists are all about the almighty buck and how full they can fill their pockets. Sugar Land Vet ER Specialists take full advantage of people who are in despair to save their beloved pet.

We have had several dogs there for special exams or surgeries, and the doctors were always passionate and knowledgeable.Today we waited for 30 mins with no one else in the lobby except us, and many exam rooms were empty, but we finally were greeted by a very rude assistant Rachel, and she purposely made things difficult for us. She made us feel very unwelcome. Rachel clearly showed not ready to treat patient by creating a good first impression for the hospital. Although Dr. Rosenthal was still excellent for our visit, I doubt if we’re going to drive all the way to Sugarland next time.
03.15.2026
Do not, and I repeat DO NOT take your pet here!!! I never write reviews, but there was no way that I wasn’t going to warn people about this place. My precious little Shorkie dog who just turned one, was attacked at a park by much larger dog on Thursday, 3/12/26. This so-called animal hospital left me in a room for five hours and first told me it would be $1500 and I said I needed to go home and I could get $1000 right away. I drove 20 minutes home and came back and then the nose ring person came in the room and told me it was going to be almost $3000. They almost killed my dog!!!! The time wasted in that place set her back and all they did was wrap her and send me home with three doses of painkillers and told me that I needed to go somewhere immediately the next day and have her stitched up. This other dog ripped her open from one side of her stomach to the other, and it is truly a miracle that she is alive. It’s a miracle because of the place that I found the next day that wasn’t on one of the lists they gave me. The people that work at this place from the front desk to the doctor to the person with a nose ring were cold and heartless!!!!! The place is nothing but a money pit. They have zero compassion for your animals, and I mean ZERO!!!! They have absolutely no business working around or near animals. In fact, they have no business being around people, especially people who are suffering emotionally and filled with fear and worry for their precious animals. Please save your self time, money and possibly your pet’s life and go anywhere but there!!!! They charged me over $400 to wrap her and sent me home after five hours. The new place I found the next day was horrified how this FAKE animal hospital treated me and couldn’t believe how much money they charged me for doing absolutely nothing! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! This place, and these people, are frauds!!!! RUN!!

We are beyond grateful for this vet office and the incredible team that helped save our dog after he was hit by a car. From the moment we arrived, they acted quickly and calmly, giving him the urgent care he needed while keeping us informed every step of the way. They treated him with so much compassion and took the time to sit with us, explain our options, and make sure we focused on the treatments that were truly necessary while respecting our budget. We never felt pressured — only supported. Their skill, kindness, and professionalism made one of the scariest moments of our lives manageable. We will never forget what they did for our family. 🐾💙

They really care. Unfortunately, our dog didn't make it by the time we arrived to this Vet ER but the care and consideration of all the staff we dealt with was above and beyond. They were patient and understanding and well trained and professional. Even with all my tears and emotions I saw the quality, care and consideration. Yes, in general emergency care is / can be expensive (for humans or pets), but if in an emergency for our other dogs, I'd trust them 100%. Thank you to all the staff we dealt with 🙏🏻

We were referred to the oncology department for our baby Sophie after she was diagnosed with lymphoma. Every step of this journey has been smooth and informative. Dr. Novosad is friendly, knowledgeable and overall a great provider for our dog during this time of uncertainty. Tanya at the front desk has a great attitude, very professional. Christina also is an outstanding medical provider. We came here with high expectations from the great recommendation our vet provided. They have lived up to that 100%. I highly recommend the oncology department here!

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Please do not bring your pets here! I came in just LAST NIGHT with my dog he was bleeding from his rear end and throwing up and before they even wanted to care for him all they were concerned about was the amount of money we would spend. We got there around 9 and did get put in a room pretty quickly, we spoke to the vet and discussed the situation my dog was in. As I said all they cared about was the money we would spend. She wrote down a couple of things and left. My dog was bleeding more and more so we asked for assistance. She took him to check his temperature, his breathing etc. She brought him back and again asked what we would spend. I agreed with the doctor seeing him for about $196, we went almost a WHOLE HOUR sitting in the room with not one check up on him. During that hour he bled out even more and was becoming more weak. I asked for assistance once again and for some water for my dog. She left after bringing the water, he started foaming from the mouth so ofc I ask for assistance. Mind you I had to practically bang on the door to get someone’s attention! She came in and took him, no communication as to what they were going to do with him. Later the doctor came in, once again the biggest concern how much would we be willing to pay. She said she’d bring out an estimate that took almost 40 minutes to bring back out to us. I had already said yes to the consultation and they had yet to go through with that. They had my dog for nearly two hours in the back with not one update for me. Another woman came in to give an estimate for everything they wanted to run on him, totaling to about 3k. Once I declined she offered to bring another estimate with what I wanted to get done to my dog. Again another hour of having not one update on my dog. I had to ask the lady at the front desk to please give me an update. That second estimate didn’t come until about an hour. When I asked for an update all they were doing with my dog was having him sit there with NO CARE. I asked for the work to be done so we could leave. It was about 2 am and that point. HOURS AND HOURS WITH NO COMMUNICATION!!! My dog now passed about 2 hours ago. I would never recommend this place to anyone who truly cares for their pets.

It has taken me a month to find the words to describe my feelings about my sweet Enzo’s passing. The loss has been profound, and putting my emotions into words has been a difficult journey. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Oncology staff at Sugarland Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Novosad, Christina, Celeste, and Irene, your incredible support and veterinary care meant everything to both Enzo and me during this challenging time. I have never experienced another clinic where my pets enjoyed being there. I would wholeheartedly recommend Sugarland Veterinary Clinic to anyone. Their honesty, love, and unwavering support helped me care for my sweet Enzo right up until his final days. I am deeply grateful for everything you did for us.

I am sharing these details in hopes of helping this clinic out. I doubt that I will return to this clinic because multiple interactions in this six-hour visit gave me significant pause. That said, I do think the first group of people whose shift ended around 7pm (the vet tech, the counter person, and the doctor) were doing their best to provide good care for my pet and good customer service in general, but there was a stark difference when it came to people who work the shift directly after that. Pros: the first counter person and vet tech were very friendly and accommodating. The doctor seemed a bit tired, and she misunderstood some things about the details of my cat's records, but when I clarified the situation, she was open to that, and she was transparent about pricing. Cons: I was encouraged to leave for a couple hours (I had come at about 5, and they needed to run some tests, and they told me at 6pm that they would call me in a couple hours). I did receive a phone call around 8pm that they had done blood work, which came out fine, but my cat was uncooperative so they did not do a urine test. They could do a urine test if I asked for my cat to be sedated. I decided not to sedate my cat. I made an appointment for my cat to go to his original, non-emergency vet the following day for possible x-rays, something both the first doctor and the vet tech encouraged me to do. I am also a teacher whose work day begins at 7am, so I often get up at 4 am. For the time being, my cat was stable. I told the night person that I was there to pick up my cat. At about 8:30, she told me that the doctor would be with me shortly. A few minutes later, she clarified that I did not want the cat to be sedated for the urine test, and I verified that I did not. Then, I waited and waited. I heard multiple people getting their animals discharged to them. Then, at around 10pm, I told the night counter person that I was going to the restroom and said I felt like I was waiting quite a while. At one point after I left the restroom, I asked if she knew when I would get my cat back bc it was going on 10:15pm, and the doctor still had not talked to me. She said the doctor had a euthanasia appointment, which happened in the room right next to me. This meant I could hear their whole ordeal including the family crying. Keep in mind, none of the other 5+ rooms for clients to wait were occupied. I have empathy for the family who lost their pet, but why was I unnecessarily exposed to that? Around 10:40pm, I explained to the night counter person, who was rude with literal eye rolls and sighs when I asked about getting my cat and also getting some water (the day counter person actually offered me free bottled water earlier when she saw me get a drink at the vending machine, and I explained this to the night person), that I would be fine with a vet tech releasing my cat to me, but this was SIX hours after we first came in, so I did not understand why I was STILL waiting. By 11pm, the vet tech came in, had me sign some paperwork, and called my cat "very aggressive." My cat had a strange reaction to the first doctor. When she came to see me after taking his vitals, he shrunk low in his carrier--something I have not seen him do with anyone else ever. The vet he had seen 4 days before had called him "sweet" and a "great patient." When I took him to the vet the following day at the Houston Cat Hospital, I relayed what the night vet tech said and explained that in 4 years, I had not seen him act aggressively with any person. The vets at the cat hospital said that they did not see him as aggressive and that he had responded very well when they did his x-rays. All in all, I just think something was off at this clinic, especially when it comes to the night staff. I know they had a lot to deal with, but the customer service could have been much more mindful and positive when I returned.

I was referred by my vet for a transfusion because my corgi was severely anemic. My vet was not able to diagnose exactly what was wrong with her because she had blood in her abdomen and they couldn't see her organs clearly. I was just distraught when I arrived at Veterinary Specialists. The staff was Wonderful, They took her immediately to do tests because my vet had not sent any records of the 1,200.00 worth of tests my sweet Chica had just endured. I was not upset about the bill I had paid, it was the way I was treated by my let's staff. The vet didn't come to report what the results were afterward. They sent in an assistant who did his best to explain that I had to take Chica for a transfusion. I asked to speak to the vet but was told she was too upset. The guilt i felt was overwhelming, but Chica was more important. Veterinary Specialists examined Chica and an assistant came in to see if I was going to be able to pay for treatment. I said that I didn't really know what was wrong. Dr. Rhue came in and explained what she found during the exam. She asked if Chica had seen a vet in the prior two years and I explained that my regular vet had retired 2 years prior and sold his practice. I had taken Chica for shots to my younger daughter's vet and wasn't really happy. I had sold my house and moved so when Chica became sick I took her to my birds vet. ABC Animal and Pet. She was so understanding and when she explained that Chica had been bleeding into her abdomen for months. She took fluid from her abdomen and they blood level was 18%. I asked how much treatment would be and what the survival chances were. She was very honest and I realized I didn't have the funds and more importantly I didn't want Chica to suffer any more than she already experienced. I couldn't stop crying, feeling guilty that I didn't see how sick Chica was. She was so kind and suggested I take her home stop and get burgers and share them with my senior dog and Chica and I can have some quality time. She gave me some medicine to stop the bleeding. She told me if she had trouble breathing to bring her back immediately. I did just that and we had 4 hours of time that made the whole situation bearable. She did start breathing heavily and I took her back and the staff was Wonderful. Putting her down was horrible but I am So grateful for your establishment. Keep up the Wonderful job. I received a sympathy card from everyone who treated Chica that I will keep forever! ..I will send photos of my Chica to post with this review. Thank you so much!

Had to visit the ER with a sick cat that was experiencing side effects from taking Convenia (long lasting antibiotic). Her symptoms (vomiting, stomach pain, bloody stool, and weeping eyes) started withing 24 hours of taking the drug and matched the toxicology information listed by the drug manufacturer exactly. The doctor refused to even consider that our kitty could be having a negative reaction and instead wanted to perform unnecessary, expensive tests, including blood work, on our already sick kitty. This drug has only been FDA approved for 6 months (Jun 2025) so there is no way anyone could have much experience with it, yet the vet insisted she had. Her tests and proposed IV drip would have come out at $1000, so we opted for subcutaneous fluid instead for around $300. Typically this would be around $30 at the local vet. The vet got visibly angry when we refused the tests and the higher price tag. TLDR: Vets are ignorant, comfortable lying, and will do anything to get more money out of patients.

We had an amazing experience with this veterinary team…. the entire staff is incredible, from the receptionists to the neurology team. Everyone was kind, knowledgeable, and supportive during a very stressful time. They took excellent care of my French bulldog, Bentley. He was seen by the neurologist, Dr. DuPont, who did a fantastic job explaining everything and making us feel at ease. Bentley was diagnosed with a neck herniated disc (cervical IVDD), and Dr. DuPont is treating him with pain management and strict rest in hopes of avoiding surgery. We’ve been dealing with this since December 22nd, and it has been overwhelming, but thanks to the care and guidance we’ve received, we are very hopeful Bentley will make a full recovery. I’m truly grateful for the compassion and expertise shown to both Bentley and our family. Highly recommend!

Went into see them despite the TERRIBLE reviews and wow I was WRONG to trust them. If you’re in the area, go to VEG ER.. much better. We experienced mismanagement of our pet and experienced even worse customer service.

Even though 12/9/2025 was one of the worst days of my life finding out my dog is terminal and they could not do surgery on her, everyone here was great. We especially had a great experience with Dr. Kylee Walter. She presented us with all of our options and was very personable and understanding. We also had great experiences with everyone else we came into contact with in the ER section. We decided to bring her home and give her palliative care. We are so grateful for this place giving us answers even though it wasn’t what we were hoping for and also for getting her feeling better that day so we could bring her home and spend whatever time we have left with her.

After my sweet boy Tiny was diagnosed with Lymphoma, we were referred to Dr. Novosad and his loving team at SLVS. I was on the fence about treatment in the beginning but Christina was so helpful about educating me on what to expect. Because Tiny is a pitbull, I do get nervous bringing him around new people especially those pricking him with needles but he grew to LOVE every single person on the oncology team. They remembered him by name, gave him treats galore and gave me the peace of mind that he was in great hands. There were even multiple times where I would call to see if he was ready and the nurse would tell me that he was getting anxious in his kennel so they let him out to sit next to them. I pursued chemotherapy with Tiny for 10 months and it was as enjoyable as it possibly could’ve been. Unfortunately, we began running out of options and I decided to stop altogether. He crossed the rainbow bridge in October 🌈 Through it all Dr. Novosad was extremely knowledgeable, his team was professional and the entire hospital made us feel welcome. Tiny even had 2 emergency stays (damn grapes) while he was having treatment and the ER team was just as amazing. They lay out all the options for you, are honest about pricing, and very professional. If you are nervous about bringing your babies here, I can promise you won’t regret it!

Never again. And I mean never. My dog couldn’t keep anything down. Water or food. My vet was closed and this was the closest and open 24 hours. The wait was worst. I arrived at around 7:20ish and didn’t see anyone until around 8:30. While waiting I had to take my dog outside because she got sick again and afterwards I just had to go back inside and wait. No one asked if she was ok and if I needed anything. When I finally got inside a room, They told me my dog needed a mandatory Parvo test. Understandable, but I knew she didn’t have it and the test was going to run me another $100+ in top of the checkup fee. After they did the test and ran her diagnostics I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours waiting for a vet. It all seems like a big money grab with all the tests they wanted to do and X-rays for a dog that had an upset stomach and more than likely needed some medicine to help her keep everything down. And when the vet finally arrived she just didn’t seem like she wanted to be there at all. Don’t waste your time or money going over here. I would strongly not recommend them. Just find another place. Over three hours waiting and walked away with little to no help. I scheduled an appointment with her vet for the next day and just gave up on them all together. I’m grateful my dog didn’t have anything serious because who knows what would have happened.

Extremely Distressing and Unethical Experience — Do Not Bring Your Pet Here in a Dire Situation We had a terrifying experience at this emergency vet on Saturday with our Pomeranian puppy. He was lethargic, non-responsive, and drooling, so we rushed him in fearing the worst. Before any treatment could be done, we were told we had to pay upfront, which immediately made the entire experience feel like a money grab rather than care focused on our pet’s wellbeing. We paid $1,300 for X-rays and blood work, yet were given no clear explanation for why our puppy was sick. After waiting for hours, the doctor told us our puppy had food/fluid in his lungs, was having trouble breathing, and needed oxygen. We were told he would be suffering without oxygen. At that same time, the doctor also mentioned that his blood work showed low blood sugar. Despite this, the overall message we were given was that our puppy was dying, and we were then asked for an additional $3,000 to keep him overnight. When we explained that we could not afford the $3,000, the doctor told us the best option was to put him down. As a family, we were absolutely devastated and genuinely began considering euthanasia based solely on how serious and hopeless the situation was made to seem. Later, a nurse came in and gave us another option — to take our puppy home. When he was brought out for discharge, he looked completely normal. To make matters worse, we were told we would receive copies of the radiographs/X-rays, but as of now we have not received them. It felt incredibly unethical and cruel to tell a desperate family that their puppy would suffer or die without oxygen, suggest euthanasia, and apply intense financial pressure, only for him to appear fine shortly afterward. It also felt like they were taking advantage of the fact that it was a weekend emergency when families are at their most vulnerable. For a facility that claims to have specialists, the inability — or unwillingness — to clearly explain the root cause of our puppy’s condition is alarming. We spent 4hrs there just to get an unclear diagnosis and $1300 out of our pockets. We nursed him back to health all Sunday, which he looked to be getting better. We then took him to our local vet and he said that our puppy looks normal. The only thing he could spot was that he had a cold/runny nose. Our puppy is now doing well and back to his normal self. Based on our experience, I strongly urge pet owners not to bring their pet here, especially in a dire or emergency situation. Please seek a second opinion if you are able.

Very vague and unclear about the charges up front. Charged me $290 for a paw x-ray never mentioned any other charges for preparing before the x-ray which turned out to be $150 + $184 for consultation + almost $70 for 10 pain killer pills. Then wanted to convince me to send the x-ray to another doctor and charge me another $190 on top of everything because they weren’t sure about what they saw in the picture. After I paid the person at the front desk he would not give me an itemized receipt for my payment. Basically they were trying to charge me a total of $856.00 for one X-ray. (Shame on you) Will never go there again, but I had to since my vet was closed.

This place is terrible. We got referred here from our vet for imaging for a mass my dog has around his eye since our vet doesn’t have imaging we needed. Had an appointment for 9:15 got there early but still sat around for 15- 20 min after my appointment time… finally take us to the back and a tech asks us a bunch of asinine questions that were already answered with the referral from our vet / and the questions my husband answered online… then they take my dog away for” vitals” and was told the vet will be in in a few minutes…. I hear my dog yelping and they come in and tell me it is because they had to kennel him and the vet will be in soon … 15-20 more minutes of the staff laughing / cackling while I can hear my dog yelping… and the tech comes in again and brings my dog and explained my dog was upset because the vet game him a “rectal exam”… what kind of vet gives an animal a rectal exam before even meeting the dog mom / dad (and what vet does this without communicating what was going on)…especially since we are in for imaging of an EYE / facial mass. By this time it was almost a hour past my appointment time and I ask how much longer it would be to see the vet… again I am told 5-10 min….20 min later the vet finally shows up and starts asking the same questions the tech asked… I tell him that there appears to be some miscommunication and that the main reason we are here is for imaging and the communication has not been good… his response was “what did you expect”… no I am sorry about the extended wait or sorry that we didn’t communicate what was going on. I decided to walk out as I have never been treated so poorly at a vet clinic (and we have multiple animals for 40 plus years)… and I certainly wouldn’t want them to treat my dog. I have never experienced this level of ineptitude and lack of communication. Whoever owns this place should know how the people working there (including the rude vet who gave my dog a rectal exam without even introducing himself) treat clients. Avoid at all costs!!!

My dumb dog decided to ruin our cookie baking plans and downed a pound of chocolate. He was seen immediately and received excellent care. They were very busy and therefore I didn't get answers right away. But i completely understand there were many other sick pets that need their attention first and I understood why i was waiting. The communication was excellent, the staff was very compassionate. They explained the prices very well and I do not feel they were just trying to take my money. Services cost money and the service was excellent. No one wants to come to the emergency room, but I'm glad this was the one I came to this time. My pup is doing great now and SLVS is the reason, Thank you thank you!

I visited SLVS ER on Saturday, and even though the ER was clearly very busy, Johnah was incredibly attentive, patient, and helpful the entire time. She made sure I understood everything that was going on and never made me feel rushed. The ER staff as a whole was kind, professional, and reassuring, which made a stressful situation so much easier. I truly appreciated the care I received and would absolutely recommend SLVS ER to anyone needing emergency treatment.

I realize it may seem cliché to turn to Google to “vent” about a difficult experience, but my goal is to make this review as balanced and constructive as possible. First, I want to emphasize that working with Dr. DuPont has been a genuinely positive experience. She helped us get our husky’s seizures into better control. While he is still having episodes, we are now able to interrupt them sooner and he goes longer between them, which we view as meaningful progress. I was especially impressed during our first visit. After I informed the front office that he was almost certain to seize the moment we walked through the door, the team proactively prepared medication and staff to intervene. They also completed his follow-up phenobarbital labs quickly and efficiently. On the other hand, we began noticing some cost discrepancies when comparing certain services with other veterinary neurology clinics. For instance, phenobarbital level testing was quoted to us at around $600, whereas comparable neurology practices charge closer to $150. The Midazolam refills were also priced significantly higher than what could be obtained through a pharmacy like H-E-B. We did not initially question these things, but after researching further, they became concerns. However, the primary reason for my 2-star review relates to an interaction that occurred yesterday and today regarding a Midazolam refill. When I called yesterday, I spoke with Josh, who was professional, polite, and solutions oriented. He explained limitations clearly, looked into what he could, and followed up promptly to let me know the refill was ready. I truly appreciated his approach. Today was a different experience. When I called to confirm whether I could quickly pick up the medication on my way to another errand, I was told this was not possible. The team lead I spoke with, Billie, communicated in a manner that felt dismissive and unnecessarily condescending. Despite explaining that I am a doctor and familiar with DEA scheduled substances, and noting that my husband is a clinical pharmacist, her responses came across as if she were speaking to someone unfamiliar with basic procedures. My goal was simply to ask clarifying questions, but the tone and delivery made the interaction feel unnecessarily adversarial. I fully understand and respect that the clinic manages emergencies and cannot always accommodate on the spot requests. My concern is not the policy itself, it is how the information was conveyed. Had the interaction mirrored the solutions focused and respectful approach that Josh modeled, I would have been far more understanding of the limitations. Unfortunately, the way the conversation unfolded made it clear that our customer experience was not a priority in that moment. It is entirely possible that today was simply an off day for that staff member. However, given this experience, we have decided to transition to another clinic. I share this feedback not to disparage the clinic as a whole, but with the hope that it might support improvements in communication and customer service moving forward.

We were referred to Dr. Dupont by our vet for a suspected case of nerve damage in our pup's neck. After an MRI, it turned out that he has another ailment in his shoulder that is not surgical. Dr. Dupont and her team walked us through every step and what should be our next plan of attack. They were extremely thorough, explained everything to us in terms we could understand, and most importantly, showed compassion and care for our pup as if he was one of their own. If I have to go back to a specialty vet, I would 100% choose Sugarland over and over again!

Our dog is a neurology patient here and we have also used the emergency service a few times. They have done a great job getting our dog's epilepsy under control. The emergency room staff is always compassionate and takes time to explain everything, making a stressful situation much easier. On one occasion, our dog experienced several clusters of seizures over 12 hours, and the staff was very gracious in providing multiple emergency interventions during that period. Our dog has been seizure-free since that day (five months ago) and we are very happy with this facility's management of our dog's epilepsy.

After reading some of the reviews, I’ll admit I was a little hesitant to bring my pet here—but I’m so glad I did! From my very first phone call to walking through the doors, I was treated with nothing but kindness and respect. I spoke with Johnah on the phone and was happy to meet her smiling face at the front desk. She took the time to explain everything clearly and helped calm my nerves. The technicians were incredibly transparent, gentle, and attentive throughout the entire visit. I truly appreciate the compassion and care shown to my sweet boy, Jax. Thank you all for going above and beyond—you’ve definitely earned my trust (and Jax’s tail wags)! 🐾💙

If you love your animal. DO NOT COME HERE! My dog was taken in for an emergency on Friday night/early Saturday morning and this visit was a mess. They claimed to be “busy” when there was barely anyone here. The specialists who were giving care to my my dog didn’t know how to explain what was wrong with my dog eye and were inputting the incorrect information on his chart saying his right eye was the injured eye when it indeed was not. We expressed concerns that the other eye may be having a similar issue as well and we were completely ignored and dismissed. My assumption is that when an animal has an injury especially to their eye you would inspect both eyes. Instead they disregarded looking at his other eye so in all honestly who knows if it spread or not and the laziness of not checking probably is what led to their mistakes in his chart on which eye was injured because they couldn’t tell!! I take my pets health very seriously meaning I do not tolerate any mistakes when I’m taking my animal for help regarding their health. If the roles were reversed and a doctor inputted your information wrong as a human it would lead to a lawsuit or malpractice so why not treat an animal the same. The urgency and professionalism was no where to be seen. My dog was also given a medication that made him feel worse. I paid $60 for extra medication to relieve him when it did the opposite. This establishment needs a refresher on their values and what their purpose and role is in this business. Calling to hear answers about my dogs condition and hearing “I’m not sure how to explain this” or “I can’t provide you details” because you are uneducated in your role or “don’t have the full story/information” is a disservice to all current and future customers. The same way we expect the best care in our human lives we should reciprocate that with our furry friends. Being “busy” is no excuse for subpar care, mistakes on a chart, or no information at all. I do not put a price on my animals care as he is important to me but $400 for a horrid experience and medication that made my animal worse with projectile vomit and diarrhea is unacceptable. Do better, and improve your service with our furry friends and their owners. To this business: if you want to fix this you can contact us through your records, not an automated response. *note this is not my primary vet, my vet is closed all weekend so this is based off an emergency experience and I will be taking my dog to their primary vet to ensure everything is okay as soon as they open*

Initially I called the vet and was nervous as i've never done it before. But I spoke with Johnah and she was so empathetic with me in explaining the process in the nicest way. Once I came in her patience was exceptional even though I could see how chaotic it could have been at the time. I appreciate her making the usual stressful veterinary visit very smooth.

Worse front staff ever. Rude in person. They have signs posted about how they don’t tolerate mistreatment of their staff, but I guess it doesn’t go both ways. I was left on hold for 30mins. Trying to get a referral sent over to a specialist. I finally gave up. My poor dog will be dead waiting on them. No respect for others time and they talk over then place you back on hold. The doctors are nice but because of the front staff I will only give 1 star!

Came in over the weekend and had such a good experience! Dr. Briggs was great — really caring, explained everything clearly, and treated my pet like her own. Johnah at the front desk was amazing — she was running things by herself and still made sure everyone and their pets were taken care of. Super friendly and patient even with how busy it was.. Couldn’t have asked for better service all around! Thank you SLVS!

Our Chiwanee was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma in July. Well, it was very difficult to get an appointment for oncologists so we decided to take him in Vet ER hospital. Dr Dever did more test and set us up within two weeks to see 🏥 the oncologists Dr Novasad. She was an excellent ER doctor as I’ll rate her. Another ER doctor is Dr Ashley Parker- she is the best. She took time on her own to see the history of my furry baby since he was on chemo in the same facility on 2 nd floor. We were so distraught that after 4 th chemo, why was our baby so much in pain, fever and slow breathing. She realized that trauma and took an ultrasound which was scheduled at 6 th week, and showed that he has started organ failure. ( not sure on medical terms). But my son who is a psychiatrist was made to understand all the medical situation. At that point, we knew we had no other choice but to give him a humane freedom from this pain. Losing a furry baby is the hardest trauma I’ve been through, and I’m writing this after three weeks mustering the courage to help others who need VET ER. I felt I owed it to everyone who is considering choosing a good Veterinary ER hospital.

Even though they were not my GS regular vet, it’s the place I took my GS after she had died to get cremated. One of the hardest and saddest thing I had to do after having her for 9 yrs. I went ok a little past midnight and they were so compassionate and nice, they handle the whole thing with situation to respectfully. After I walked away I thought that was the end, until I recently received a card with the entire staff condolences. What a touching gesture, OMG!!. It really touch me heart. I promise you when I’m ready to be a dog lol again Sugarland Veterinary will be my new place for my furry pet. Thank you so much

After the vets suspected our fur baby, Moon, had lymphoma, we went to Sugarland Veterinary Specialists for oncology and a clearer prognosis. We chose steroids to give her the happiest last few months possible. Throughout that time, Dr. Novasad and his team were incredibly patient, compassionate, responsive, and knowledgeable — always taking the time to answer my many questions and gently guiding us through every step of Moon’s care. In Moon’s final days, Nurse Christina stayed on the phone with me for 45 minutes, gently helping me understand what was happening and find the courage for next steps with Moon. Moon recently crossed the rainbow bridge at home, after a joyful feast, surrounded by her family and her favorite toys. We are forever grateful to the staff for helping us give Moon so many good days, full of love and as painless as possible. Thank you for helping us give her a final “Goodnight, Moon" filled with peace, comfort, and love.

The worst vet ever. We discussed a treatment plan for my cat to put him in a fasted state since he ate something poisonous and he kept on throwing up for two days to find out what was the issue going on. And without even informing us they fed him and kept giving him anti nausea medications. And worst of all they almost charged us 4k for two

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This facility is absolutely disgusting and Jessica Anderson is a very bad doctor - I wouldn't even trust a stuffed animal to be safe with her in this facility. Here is the summary of my experience. - cat throws up. - bring the cat to the clinic. - they charge me 1100$ for routine tests. - anderson suggests to keep the cat fasted for 10-12 hours and repeat the test at 12pm - according to anderson, the cat will be only given iv fluids during this 12hrs. - i say ok and pay 2200$. What actually happened: - i call to check on my pet at 6:15pm. - anderson calls me back around 7:40pm. - tells me they fed the cat at 6pm - she didn't tell me for 90+ mins after the event. - i pick up my cat and they further tell me that they also gave nausea meds without telling me. - this is again not the conversation that I had with jessica. Mind you, a fasting cat is fed. If this were a fasted human, the nurses would lose their license. Even the nurses here are not very educated and lack basic reading comprehension since they can't tell the difference between fasted vs not. I think a lot of people working here might not be properly licensed. Regardless, I tell Anderson, Heather (she is also not very bright) and the manager with the forgettable name to issue me a full refund for the services since I did not pay for what my cat received. They do not issue me a refund and I am ultimately left to escalate by reporting jessica to the vet board and leaving this review. If you love your pet, skip this facility.

The vet Dr Autufat was wonderful! Took plenty of time to talk to me and explain different avenues we could take for my cat. Her tech was so sweet! I don’t remember her name, but she was so warm and sympathetic!
08.30.2025
The cost of tests and visit was so high I could not even make a decision for care for her. The tests were over $2000 and the medical care they recommended was over $15,000 to start. I was terrified for my precious dog and she was very sick but they could not give me any clue as to a diagnosis or prognosis. But the estimates were terrifying. After 1 night in hospital and tests I took her back - I told them I could not afford more and that they had made me feel terrible for not being able to give her enough care. This cost me over $6000! I felt so helpless and stupid. The staff was nice - the dr. nice and I am sure qualified. but their priority was money and not care or even talking in a way to encourage or help to make major decisions. I lost my girl, she was very ill, but they called me 5 days later to say some of her tests came in. they never called me in the 5 days to check or care about her.

Dr. Kelsey Arrufat was incredibly kind and compassionate. Although our dog received a very difficult diagnosis, she delivered the news with genuine care and sensitivity. It is clear that Dr. Arrufat truly cares about the well-being of her patients and their families. She took the time to explain all of our options, provided her professional opinion, and even followed up with us after we had MRI testing done at another clinic to share her thoughts. Dr. Arrufat was incredibly honest as well. We are very grateful for her support during such a hard time and would highly recommend Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care.

Great facility for specialty and emergency care. Very compassionate, knowledgeable with great imaging diagnostic equipment and outstanding surgeons. Dr Bubenik is truly outstanding. They saved Rosie’s life after a very large mass was found on her spleen and surgery was a must. Fortunately, it was benign. I truly appreciated how the vets and staff kept us apprised during every step from diagnostic imaging to surgery to recovery. They have the capacity for overnight stays and I even got sent a picture of our sweet girl after she woke up from surgery. I 100% recommend them and trust their skill set and up to date knowledge on splenic tumors. I never felt rushed when asking questions and I felt they were very professional and again, compassionate. Rosie’s doing great after surgery!! The Schack-Pautler family

Excellent service and advise about my dog's issue. Dr. Bubenik was great at explaining options and not bias towards any specific path, clearly explaining pros and cons. Made me feel confident to make the best decision for my maltese with gallblader issues. Highly recommend her and the surgery team.

I am not big on leaving reviews when I am not happy, but I feel so strongly about this (and they just sent me an email asking me to review). We went in on a Sunday night 2 weeks ago because our beagle had a snake bite. The Dr. there (do not know her name) was less than professional or personable and sadly, treated us as if we did not know what we were talking about. We were pretty confident it was a snake bite, as he had one a few weeks prior and symptoms were similar. While we were there we saw a wound on his leg, bleeding and she disregarded that and still wanted to run blood work, chest x-rays, leg x-rays that we did not feel were necessary until we shaved the wound and made an assessment there. We had to insist on that via the tech who had just gotten him comfortable in our room with pain meds. Since this was the case she kindly said she would come into the room and do the shave so he would not be disturbed anymore. She left and came back and said the Dr. wanted him moved and done in the back. She apologized for having to move him. Once she was done, she brought him back and said the vet still did not think it was a snake bite and she would come talk to us shortly as she was with a critical patient. We waited 20 minutes, ended up asking to be checked out and left. We saw our vet the next day to confirm it was a snake bite. That is a long story, but we were simply disappointed on how she talked down to us, would not listen to us, wanted to perform unnecessary and expensive tests. We have been to this clinic once before and it was a very good experience. This was just not that. The tech was excellent, kind and caring.

I had a very pleasant experience here despite the circumstances. My cat had a seizure late at night on a Sunday so I rushed her in. The staff were extremely nice- I was in a panic and was crying and they got me into a waiting room and explained the whole process. They gave me a statement so I wasn’t surprised by any prices. The next day the neurologist called and was also extremely nice and gave me a full explanation. I was given an option to do an MRI or treat for epilepsy. They gave me a full estimate once again so there were no surprises. I have called up there a couple times since with questions (I’m a worried cat mom) and they have been nothing but informative and nice. I appreciate them making the process as pleasant as it could have been. I will definitely be using this practice if I ever have another emergency.

My Frenchie poo, Diamond was rushed here in critical condition 30 minutes after having a minor procedure at a previous vet and being coned. Dr Parker and her staff took immediate action as soon as i ran through the door and asked for help. Diamond had to be resuscitated twice and put on a vent. After considering the price of treatment and her condition at the time, I started giving up on hope. I was constantly being checked on and also comforted because I couldn’t make a decision until i got into with my daughter, Diamond’s mom. Upon my daughter’s arrival, Dr Parker sat on the floor and patiently discussed all options and even though I gave up hope, she NEVER did, regardless of our financial situation. A little while later, we watched a video of Diamond fully alert on the table, looking as though all of the tubes were new toys. We also saw a video of her walking around like Bambi on ice. Please don’t believe the hype that these wonderful, life saving people are money hungry because their hearts, knowledge, and kindness outweighs all of that. You have to be kind to others for others to be kind to you. That’s what happened in our situation and our Diamond has been discharged not even 24 hours later. She’s been resting in her favorite spot next to my desk as I work. Our family is forever grateful for Dr. Parker and the overnight staff who saved her life❤️

I reached out to the internal medicine team to transfer my puppy after stabilizing him at Texas A&M and coordinating with his local vet in between visits. Living in the Katy area, it is challenging to make the trip to A&M every 3 weeks. We were referred to a local specialist, but when trying to schedule a crucial blood test for my pet, we encountered difficulties. The receptionist stated they couldn't accommodate the test on the necessary day (because they can't do anything on the first day), despite its importance for adjusting medication. This was frustrating, considering the urgency of my pet's treatment and mentioning that i could provide the full history of hospitalizations, tests and treatments. Ultimately, we decided to continue seeking care at Texas A&M, where we feel confident in the level of care and attention given to our furry family member.

We went in today with concerns about arthritis and hip dysplasia thinking we would be preparing for surgery. Dr. Arrufat gave us news of additional concerns and despite the additional diagnosis she gave us comfort in knowing there is a more conservative approach for treatment. We left with peace of mind and a plan of action to start treatment right away. The entire team was extremely helpful starting with the check in process, our intake and all the way through to check out. I am grateful that this office is filled with professionals that truly care and take pride in their career instead of focusing on making money. I know my old man Lino is in good hands with the team we crossed paths with today!

We took our Alaskan Malamute, Syren, to SLVS after a referral from her primary vet. The entire experience was caring, professional, and supportive. Syren was treated with exceptional care and the staff, from the front desk to the surgeons, exhibited empathy, compassion, and a very high degree of knowledge and experience. I could not recommend them more.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! Brought my dog (Bruno) here to fix a botched TPLO. We thought his leg might need to be amputated; it was that bad. Dr B and her team never gave up trying to save his leg and tried everything and we are so thankful that it worked! He is now able to use the leg. Everyone here was always so very kind to Bruno and to us as well, I was a total mess during this process. I had so many questions, and they were always very patient, honest and kind with me. They treated Bruno like he was their own and I never worried leaving him there and I could tell he felt comfortable too. This was a three-month ordeal, we had several surgeries, and numerous follow ups and this was how I felt every single time we were there, and we were there a lot! I just cannot give them enough stars to properly reflect how great they are.

Our fur baby attacked a Texas coral snake (extremely venomous) in our backyard. We were fearful that she was bitten, so we rushed her to the Vet specialist. They saw us right away, checked her for bites, and told us what symptoms to be on the lookout for. Fortunately she wasn’t bitten. However I really appreciate the urgency for which they saw her! And the care provided! You rock!

Saw Dr. Eddie Vasquez in internal medicine today for the first time. He was thorough, patient with my 759 questions, compassionate and kind. Discussed diagnostic options and potential outcomes, offered choices, and even came outside himself to collect my dog’s urine sample. Gave us a written treatment plan of options and let us decide. The vet techs were patient and encouraging with my highly anxious dog. Although we don’t have answers yet, I feel better about things just knowing we have a path forward.

(Translated by Google) First of all, I will take the time to make this comment in Spanish, especially for those people like me of Hispanic origin who earn money with great effort and for whom it is important to have information about this clinic. On Friday, April 11th, I had the misfortune of finding my dog in critical condition. In my desperation, I got in my car and drove to this clinic in the Sugarland area. My first thought was: because it was located in an affluent neighborhood, he would receive the best care. I've worked with animals and in the healthcare field in my country, and I can recognize when a situation is serious. I knew this was one where every second counted. I rushed to the reception desk with my dog, who was badly injured, bleeding profusely, and almost unconscious. I was crying and begging for help when a very rude, Hispanic woman, like myself, told me I needed to pay $2,000 to even begin treatment. I then asked a relative for help, who gave me their information over the phone so I could enter their credit card details. Up until that point, my dog wasn't being seen, and I was losing crucial minutes. After that, no matter how much I wanted information, no one was willing to give it to me. After pacing around like a desperate madwoman, I finally managed to get someone to help me. The doctor in charge came out to explain what was happening. Later, someone from the sales department came to tell me that the cost to save my dog's life was approximately $6,999, without any guarantee that he would survive! They said that if he died, part of the cost of the surgery materials would be deducted. The other option was a low-cost clinic that opened the next day at noon. Honestly, I took it as a joke. As an animal lover, I understand that when you go to a clinic like this, you're responsible for the financial aspects, but I can't understand the level of shamelessness in charging $2,000 to put gauze on his neck, administer a sedative, and basically take X-rays I never even saw. A good professional knows what the situation will be like when they receive a patient! They wasted valuable time and, even worse, they used Lucio to collect their nightly fee! ...In short, I had to make the difficult decision to have him put to sleep for an additional $685, including cremation, which still hasn't arrived! (April 22, 2025, 10:07 AM) I had to search through different places in Conroe for Lucio. Finally, I encountered another rude person who told me all I could do was wait. Many things happened that night at this clinic. I know I didn't make the right decision. What was said wasn't the truth; I should have taken the risk and brought him home. My reason tells me I was wrong, that even if the clinic is luxurious, that doesn't guarantee you'll receive good treatment or honesty... The story is long, but I know time will prove me right! And many families will be affected! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC!!!!!!! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY, WHICH ISN'T WRONG, JUST PRETEND IT. THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DEEPLY LOVE ANIMALS!!!!!!! I'M NOT INTERESTED IN APOLOGIES OR COMMENTS SAYING "WE'RE INVESTIGATING" OR "WE'RE WORKING ON IT," WHICH WOULD BE A MEDIOCRE RESPONSE IN LUCIO'S MEMORY!!!!!!!!!! I HOPE MY TESTIMONY HELPS YOU!!!!!

My Chihuahua, Coco, was diagnosed with an external portosystemic shunt. Dr. Eddie Vazquez in Internal Medicine was the first to evaluate her, and Dr. Loretta Bubenik performed her surgery. Both doctors, along with the entire team, were absolutely wonderful throughout such a stressful time. They called me throughout Coco’s surgery day to keep me updated and even sent pictures, which meant so much to me and helped ease my worries. The communication, compassion, and care they showed were truly exceptional. I’m so grateful for everything they did for Coco — she’s now doing amazing and living her happiest little life thanks to them! 💛🐾
