Nick, Thank you for your very direct feedback. You are correct, when you received your cover 2 years ago our customer service was horrible and since then we have made it a priority to be responsive and helpful. We had just implemented a program that records all communication with our customers. We only have one recorded phone call with you concerning wrong parts which we quickly resolved. Per our instructions, when the latches are properly installed, they should slide easily with your index finger at all times when not locked. If they don’t it is typically a result of a latch finger being bent downward when the cover is shut on top of the latch is in the closed position. It can be readily adjusted in the correct position unless it is damaged by excessive force. Because the latches require clearance to function properly, we recommend a reinforcement kit to securely hold the cab section of the cover to the truck bed. This is used when traveling on wash board roads or high-profile loads are mounted on top of the cover. We water proof test every cover before it is shipped. An additional seal kit is available for bed rails that are not flat or additional sealing is required in the bed. If the cover itself leaks on the customer truck we will either repair or replace the cover. Please contact us at your earliest convenience and we will do everything possible to resolve these issues.
