The other night I called them as I had a feral female cat that had been in active labor for over 14+ hours and had multiple babies stuck. I live over an hour away from them and was told to just get her there and they would examine her and tell me what it would cost for an emergency spay/c-section of any remaining babies. However, once I got there, I was told to just take her back home and let nature take its course and see if she lived, that the dr wouldn’t examine her due to the fact that she was a feral cat. Had I known this before driving over 100 miles to get to them for help, I would have called in some favors with local vets that were already closed. As it was the next day, I had to have her rushed in with a local vet for an emergency surgery to save her life due to the fact her insides were already completely infected, which is why she was in active labor and unable to deliver her babies without my help, which the staff ridiculed me for doing once there. However, when I had called ahead, I had explained the entire situation and the fact that I was a nonprofit organization and they told me they’d help me with this cat. So the experience I was expecting between the phone call compared to when I got there was completely different, as when I got there they wanted $1500 up front just to examine her compared to the $149 that I was told on the phone. It should not have mattered that this was a feral cat; she was in distress and needed help. I needed the help and was extremely disappointed in this emergency clinic at how they refused to help and just responded with, “take her home and let nature take its course. She’ll either live or die.” Never once was I even told what it would cost to do an emergency surgery on her because the dr on duty that night refused to even look at her. Had I known that was going to be the case, I would not have driven all the way up there, especially with the cost of fuel currently, to try to save her life. I have never been more disappointed in a clinic as I was that night and still am today.

“Emergency” Veterinary Hospital might get better reviews if they dropped the word “Emergency” from the name. It’s blatant false advertising. Nothing in the way the unsympathetic staff behaved indicated the sense of urgency people of above average intelligence associate with the word “emergency.” I called at 1:15 and told them my dog had a foxtail seed in his paw. I had the same thing with a dog 25 or 30 years ago. A forceps gets out the seed, then bandage and antibiotics. “Can you take it out?” “Yes.” At 4:00 I was left the “Emergency” Veterinary Hospital with a $140 charge and no treatment of the paw. I got the same a lecture three times on Parvo because my dog had diarrhea. I asked when someone was going to look at his paw and got the same lecture on parvo. I waited 1/2 hour to confirm no parvo in our 9 month old fully vaccinated dog. Every time I pointed out how long we had been there one of the several employees working said “it’s an emergency hospital” as though “emergency” means people are going to move at a sloth pace and keep asking about unrelated health issues, asking the exact questions that were on the written form they made me fill out, taking vitals and insisting on an unnecessary parvo test, and spending the most time writing up a bill for the proposed treatment. Today my real vet took an 11:00 appointment and had the foxtail out at 11:36 for 1/4 the minimum price proposed by EVH. The EVH belongs to a Delaware-registered corporation with a principal place of business in Kent, Washington. It is obviously driven by profit and preys on people traumatized by pet emergencies.

Every single interaction with every member of the staff has been absolutely amazing. They TRULY care about the well being and comfort of the animals and the owners comfort as well. The building is very well cleaned, and stocked with snacks and coffee. I highly recommend this vet.

My young dog had a seizure a few days ago, we were seen as quickly as they could. Despite being obviously busy they kept checking on my pup, my partner and I while we waited to chat with the vet. The staff was not only attentive and kind to my dog but also checked in on my partner and I numerous times. Genuinely the most caring and supportive staff. They clearly laid out our options and did not pressure us into a decision we didn’t want. Everyone here was so wonderful! Highly recommend in a scary situation.

I brought my dog Tortle in December of this year. He was dying but I didn't know it for sure and the staff at Emergency Veterinary Hospital treated us with the utmost kindness, care, and every member went above and beyond during the toughest moment of my life. They worked to save his life and were there for him, me, and my husband and in Tortle's final moments. I couldn't imagine a more compassionate crew and I am truly grateful for the care they showed us.

Such great and amazing staff. Our cat had an accident on my daughter's lap on the way there and Hannah had her husband bring clean pants for her so didn't have to sit in pee pants! And of course, more importantly, they took great care of out Pip!!

Thank you for helping us when we brought in our kitty who had passed away. The kindness of the staff meant a lot in those moments.

I took my dog here for an emergency to be dealt with. He was peeing all over himself, throwing up, couldnt stand, was whining non stop, ear aches and they had us in a room for almost 2 hours without even so much as seeing a doctor walk by the door….then when my dog peed on the floor of the room they wanted to use a sample off the floor to analyze my dog, Ive been in biology long enough to know you dont take a contaminated (OFF OF THE FLOOR) sample OF ANYTHING for analysis ever. They have a terrible practice here, I took him to West Eugene and had him in and out within an hour and he was taken care of and was tended too the whole time we were there…..

I have only just arrived with my very sick 8month old Rottweiler. And the staff thus far has been perfect
04.10.2026
They sent me home with three words to restrict movement. They didn't say anything about cage size or how long soft tissue injury would require restriction. I had to take my pet back to the vet just to find out how long. However the avian vet is very good, has a lot of information, is very well versed. He just doesn't give much follow-up. The staff were rude when I tried to get an answer, while my bird's ability to walk was dependent on follow up care.

I will never take any animal to this emergency vet again. After incorporating they have become overpriced, and recommend unnecessary procedures.

Thank you so much to Dr. Hayati Wolfenden. She was very thorough in explaining everything, patient, and compassionate during one of the hardest moments of our lives.

We came in early morning on a Saturday for our dog and the staff was friendly, prompt and empathetic. We had to make the difficult decision for our dog and the staff was understanding. They talked about our options and the process clearly about how they will let our dog pass away painlessly and peacefully. However, our experience turned miserable pretty quickly. We were left in the room that our dog passed away for almost an hour after the vet finished and took our dog's body. The door was opened slightly, so the staff might have heard us when we started to get mad when nobody came to give us an update afterwards. Finally, the vet assistant/tech came and apologized saying that there was a miscommunication and then we got our dog's remains. Then, we got a sympathy card in the mail, but it was for a cat. We had a dog! That was the last straw and made me want to write this review.

Found a kitten in bad health. Brought the kitten to the vet. Asked if they could let me know what the fate of it was if I called back and basically got a HIPPA rundown for animals. Im bringing the animal in to possibly be saved, not trying to steal someones information.

Heartfelt thank you to EVH for taking such amazing care of my dog. When I called in with an urgent medical situation, they got us right in the door and care started immediately. They were so kind and compassionate and took extraordinary care of our sweet boy. We received updates and pictures of our dog the entire time he was there. Raaka, the techs and all of the vets working on him were calm, caring and helped us understand what we were facing and all of the options. They even communicated with our vet and researched all things possible to try to help him. They were the bright spot in a terribly hard situation. We highly recommend EVH. Thank you for taking care of our sweet boy when we could not. ❤️

Upon arriving with my cat I let them know she should be given Gabapentin right away because she has a tough time at the vet. Two hours later they finally brought me back to let me know they had only checked her vitals (not even her temperature) and were unable to further assess her because of her mood. I would have thought that in those two hours they would have provided her the anxiety medicine necessary for them to further exam her. When they provided a long list of fees needed to continue the exam and I questioned those fees and the exam itself; the mood/friendliness of the care team shifted dramatically. I asked to have her discharged since she had been back there with no medication and bare minimum treatment. It took almost an hour to discharge her from the time I asked she be returned to me. When they said she was finally ready, they made me go back and get her into her carrier which feels completely incompetent that I had to do it on their behalf. An emergency vet clinic should be able to administer gabapentin and safely return a cat to its carrier.
03.16.2026
Either severely understaffed or incompetent. Not enough urgency. Longest I’ve had to wait for vitals to be checked. Needed to wait another hour for a discharge. What discharge? No treatment was being done. This place is an embarrassment. The place I went to in Portland was miles better. Not even close.

My pup had a surgery and had some strange breathing during recovery. Staff was kind and fast and helped my pet and myself quickly in the middle of the night

I brought my 6 month old black lab Winston to them very sick near death. They quickly diagnosed he had parvo and started treatment and saved his life. I can not thank them enough. Winston has made a full recovery and loves life. Amazing team and great communication!

We were in and out of multiple emergency hospitals and our primary vet trying desperately to understand what was happening with our dog. Out of the three veterinary hospitals and clinics we visited, this emergency hospital was the only one that took him in immediately, gave us clear cost estimates, and, most importantly, accurately identified what was wrong. Their team went above and beyond from the moment we walked in. After diagnosing him, they didn’t just send us on our way, they provided us with several oncology options and helped guide us through next steps during an incredibly overwhelming moment. Every staff member we encountered was compassionate, patient, and genuinely supportive. They treated our dog with kindness and treated us with empathy at a time when we needed it most. I’m deeply grateful for the professionalism and care they showed throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone seeking thorough, compassionate, and truly dedicated veterinary care for their pet.

I brought my cat here for what I thought may be an emergency. I called beforehand and let them know he had some pinkish urine. They urged me to come in immediately. Upon arrival, before even filling out paperwork...they took my cat to their back room. I don't like that they have a screen with all the animals pictures and names for people to look at. Pretty sure that would never fly in a human clinic. The vet came out to the waiting room to discuss my cat, rather than taking me and my cat in a room together to examine him in front of me, as our regular vet would typically do. She let me know I'd be given a "quote" for a urine sample. After a while longer, I get called into an exam room. My cat is still not present. The tech hands me a sheet like I'm at a restaurant, "it will be this at the low end, this at the high end". The high end was nearly $900 for a urine sample because they would have to use pain meds for it. I asked why pain meds would be necessary, I was met with resistance and also an air of "if you want your cat to suffer, that's your decision". I declined the sample and asked for my cat to be returned to me immediately. I waited about another 10-15 mins before I popped my head out of the room to ask the reception staff where my cat was. They didn't have an answer, one chimed in "they are working on discharge papers". I said "why would he need discharge papers? You aren't treating him." The vet then came in (again without my cat) and said "I will not have you speak to my staff that way." She told me my cat would assuredly need emergency care in the next 24 hours and gave me a list of others because they would not be having me back. I was OK with that. I will absolutely NEVER bring any of my pets here, and I will urge anyone I know to avoid it at all cost. This is a money grab, playing on the love we have for our pets. We have our cat on a new prescription food, pretty litter, and he's doing just fine. Side note: the tech I dealt with was incredibly rude to the older gentleman that brought a pup in that he thought was having a panic attack. When he asked the status she said "I don't know, it could go one way or the other. I don't have an answer for you."

Staff was wonderful, caring and very helpful in the difficult process of helping our Cajun cross over the rainbow bridge. Very professional and courteous . Offered all the time we needed, Didn’t rush us through our grieving Very thorough and talked us through every step of the process If I could I would give them 10 stars.
02.03.2026
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE ! I wish I could give this place absolutely zero stars , I came in with my dog acting strange I told them something was wrong. They suggested she ate something that was making her sick. The guy who tried to vaccinate her poked and prodded at her arm until I told him to do it another way. They sent me home after giving her nausea meds they didn’t listen to a word I said. Took her to another vet she’s has severe swelling in the throat they were surprised she was even breathing !!! She could have died , DO NOT GO HERE
02.02.2026
They were very good at treating my cat. But the one guy there taking information for the billing needs to show some compassion instead of being all about if you have all the money for your bill.. he was pretty rude!!
02.01.2026
Very expensive unlike most vet clinics and made us wait 5 hours for our dog who was lethargic, couldn't stand, and was vomiting all day. They wouldn't see us, refused to give him the medical treatment unless we told them our payment plan and kept changing the prices even HIGHER than what we discussed.

Brought my dog Violet in, she is reactive and not friendly. All the staff were very understanding and professional and I felt comfortable in leaving Violet with them overnight. They were very upfront with costs and care, even letting us know that we could come visit her. I could not recommend this place even more, I felt that my pet was in good hands and now she is home feeling better than ever. Thank you to Dr. Johnson, Natalie, Rebecca, Dawn, and everyone else there!

Extremely predatory and kill happy. Only come here for an actual emergency, don’t believe them if they say your animal won’t make it till after you see your animal and do your best to pick the staffs brains about what’s really going on with your pet. I’d say much more but it would be an essay. They treat your pets like a useless waste of time piece of property and you like you are stupid. They try to shock you out of money using your animal as bait. Let’s just say the amount I paid upfront to this emergency vet just to be told I should euthanize my dog half a dozen times and get a small bottle of dog pain meds is the same as I paid for second opinion elsewhere which included a full physical exam, set of 4 X-rays, a stay at the vet so the could properly sedate him to take the X-rays, and more. I wish there were better options in Springfield for emergency care. My dog is doing great after his accident, btw. Glad I was able to see through the BS and not euthanize him or pay for made up problems and find better care for him elsewhere.

Plan on being there a loooong time, getting no updates, upsold on overpriced care where they push for unnecessary care and rediculous markups. I'm sure they workers are overworked, but the owners are clearly pushing a model they preys on people being scared and vulnerable. Also, for the person that monitors this page, save responding to me, you already lost my business and won't get me or my dog back.

On a Sunday night when our dog was in distress and couldn't walk, we took her to the Emergency Hospital for an assessment and treatment and were so impressed by the care she received and the people who helped us, including the reception staff, veterinarian, and assistants. We were very grateful for the care of the veterinarian, Dr. Barlow. She was awesome: patient, caring, competent, and thorough. She answered all our questions and explained everything in detail and with compassion. There is a lot going on in an emergency hospital, heavy emotions and anxiety (people AND pets), and every staff member we saw handled those big feelings with calm, kindness, and professionalism. It was a tough place to be for a few hours so I want to send my appreciation to all the people who are there day after day doing this meaningful and difficult work. We greatly valued your time and efforts in caring for our dog. The hospital is well-run, clean, and while you should expect to wait at various times, there is a clear and efficient process that is followed to manage the animals in their care. I am glad this emergency hospital is in our community and would definitely go there again.

These folks took such good care of our pup. She had a high fever and they guided us through the process with care and patience. They navigated a really high patient load with organization and attention.

Maya 2 and 1/2-year-old border collie smelled something she couldn't resist I live in the country next to the river and I seen rats crawling over the wood pile on the back porch. So yesterday evening on dropped a couple of green mouse killer vape bars down deep in the wood pile.. 15 minutes later I went to let my border collie in and I looked up and I noticed that torn into the pile. I grabbed my flashlight and went out and looked and digging through where I had known. I tossed two bars of mouse poison. I could only find one! It didn't take much thought. I googled 24-hour animal hospital right? Nearest that I could find was us in pioneer parkway in Springfield. I called them, explained what had happened. I said I don't know that he's eating one, but I suspect I very strongly suspect that he has. I grabbed the bag of poison and I showed up 20 minutes later. They immediately checked them in and took them back. The most direct immediate approach that needs happen. And very very fortunate over there at the vet clinic. Very very fortunately, even though it was a neurotoxin got my Ranger had. It was not enough that it should impact you. I have a handful of things I need to watch out for the next 4 days. 5 hours of quality hospital emergency veterinarian service for less than $500! I warned them to expect review on Google and with only a little hesitation, those wonderful ladies in the office. Smile that me 💖

The doctor was professional and thorough, but the techs and front office staff are not. Other pet euthanasia's are spoken of loudly in front of the entire lobby, and they are clearly short staffed. It is felt by the patients left waiting in rooms for what is told to be a few short minutes turning into almost an hour while you sit there confused and your pet needing care, and the techs who are so blatantly and aggressively fake nice. it is just not a good combo and therefor I would advise others to seek immediately needed care elsewhere.

I have a federal license to have exotic animals for educational purposes and my fennec fox became ill at one of the worst times. Vets that can treat them are limited even at the best of times. His usual vet was unavailable and after some calls around I was suggested to call here. It was new news to me that they except exotics now. I called first and came in when they said the exotic vet started his shift. They took him in back right away while I filled out the paperwork. There was a wait of course since it's an ER for animals but I wasn't focused on the time. I've waited longer in other situations. It'll depend what cases are showing up. Everyone was nice. The vet tech took a through history. The vet was knowledgeable and explained things clearly. He even had the fennec reference ranges, but I had brought my copy that I have, since that's not always the case for exotics. They sent regular photo updates while he was hospitalized, so I included a couple. They also encouraged my visiting him or calling. He came home after a day and a half and is improving. As far as cost, it was actually not that bad. I'd say it's about on par with the current pricing at my regular vet, if we had to do that many tests, treatment and hospitalization.

Super caring staff here, helped out my cat Lizzie and me, their compassion was greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone working here.
12.11.2025
Ive been here twice now... I won't go into detail but the first visit was one of the worst days of my entire life and the people here helped me and my family through it. Every single person I talked to here was incredibly kind, reassuring, and extremely patient. Because of my first experience with them, we went back again when we had another emergency. And just like the first time, every person I interacted with in their office was amazing. On top of that, they're very reasonably priced, especially for an emergency clinic. I can't recommend them enough.
12.03.2025
Even though the wait kind of sucked I had a great experience there. Everyone there is absolutely sweet and showed amazing compassion. My cat isn't great with new people but she seemed to love everyone she had an interaction with as well. Highly recommend coming here simply for the amazing workers and great care.

I was there for a sad occasion. I knew that euthanasia for a little dog was what we were seeking. I called ahead and got the base price of $189 just to walk in the door plus the cost of euthanasia itself at $65 to total $254. Being on a budget and not entirely sure *when* our buddy was going to be ready, it was nice to know we could go in at any time and they would not leave us waiting too long. They were very sensitive and accommodating to my little guy and our family.

Tonight I took my Chihuahua in for pain in his front leg. Most likely due to overgrown nails that got snagged on a blanket. We only took him to emergency because Everytime he moved for one hour he yelped if we tried to pick him up he yelped and he only took a couple bites of his food. I called ahead to check if I had to pay at time of service as I only have access to a certain amount per day, I was told no so I took my dog in. Upon arrival I explained what had happened and they examined him when talking to doctor I was informed she wanted to do multiple things that weren't necessary and would have to pay before leaving in full. I chose not to do blood work or X-rays and just got some pain meds to take home my dog has been fine since leaving but had I done everything they wanted to I would have had to over 1000 before leaving we did some adjustments and it was still over my limit for today so had to drop pain meds at the vet for them to finish trimming his nails and just had the exam and meds to take home. They wanted to prove he also had something that isn't even common for his breed and wouldn't show up on blood work or an X-ray and a normal behaviour was what led them to think he may have a intervertebral disk disease. However the switching of front feet is normal according to his actual vet and we have noticed it is perfectly normal when we need to trim his nails. Our concern was that he had dislocated his shoulder or a toe which the doctor felt no signs of and our dog didn't react in a way associated with pain during exam, we also though he may have cracked a toe nail. My biggest problem is that they said no payment due at time of service over the phone and then come to find out I had to pay everything in full at time of service. Otherwise staff was very nice and professional. However we will not be going back.

Read online they were good vet services and kind hearted vets & staff. They tried to help our boy out and stated they had to have the funds right there and then in order to save his life with surgery we provided that we would have the money the next day or two showing the two loans that were pending to cover the cost to save our boy but because it was a Sunday night. They said they couldn't do anything further with the life saving surgery unless money was upfront. We tried relentlessly on different borrowing apps to get funds quicker for about 3 hours showing them we are trying. But to no avail. They provided us a list of vets in the morning that could probably help. We were sent back home because of no funds and because we are in recession-they stated, but we showed in the morning we would have it for them or atleast half until the following day. Unfortunately he passed on the way to vet in my sons arms in pain only 7 years old. I tried to take optimistic side that understand society has screwed them over with not paying but we showed them providing proof we would have in the day or two to save our boy even with $9,975.00 in debt (emergency surgery) even with the APR which is dOUble BUT we were determined to try and save his life. Which WE tried but still feel like the failure he lost his life. I wish I never selected this facility but all the reviews seemed like they could help. No faith in humanity I wish I was exaggerating this but this is all true. Make sure to have money when coming to this facility or you won't be saving your family member

My family was incredibly impressed with the care we got from this clinic. Not only were they prompt and kind, but they sent us pictures of our pet for his entire stay! This is an emergency clinic so of course they’re expensive, but upon picking up our cat they even gave us money back. I’ve never had such a stressful experience be handled with so much care. Thank you Dr. Johnson and team!

About two months ago, my cat Peaches went into a kidney crisis after accidental lily poisoning. I brought her to EVH on my vet’s recommendation, and I’m so grateful I did. Core at the front desk was very helpful and made sure Peaches was immediately taken to the back while I finished paperwork. Dr. Quigley was incredibly compassionate and walked me through all my options while being mindful of my budget. I was in the middle of moving and could only visit once a day, but I received frequent phone updates, and Lauren, the tech, even sent me photos and reassured me that Peaches was getting lots of attention. The whole team was professional, efficient, and caring. There was a wait when I arrived, but that’s to be expected in any ER. Lily poisoning is usually lethal, but EVH saved Peaches’ life, and I couldn’t be more grateful. She is now healthy, completely back to normal and living her best lazy cat life thanks to you guys.

I cannot express the gratitude I have for the staff here. The compassion and kindness they showed us in a very difficult time with our beloved ferret Buddy, I will never forget. Thank you all for everything you did. Especially Megan. I can't thank you enough for going above and beyond for our baby.
10.31.2025
They told me to shake my dog to get him to throw up which is super dangerous. I just want them to provide better training to their staff but they won't email me back. They don't care if they hurt animals I guess.
10.27.2025
Just want to say thank you again to Melissa, Dr. Quigley, and all of the staff here for their help yesterday with my elderly dog. He was ready to go, and their kindness and professionalism was off the charts. It’s so hard to put down a pet, and they were wonderful on a hard day.
10.21.2025
They told me to shake my dog to get him to throw up, which is malpractice. I will be filing a complaint against them with the OVMEB. Update: the manager refuses to email me back. They continue to shake dogs to throw up which can kill them. Horrible people. All I want is better training for their staff and they ignored me.

The people at Emergency Veterinary Hospital are the best of the best - incredibly proficient and professional, while also deeply caring and empathetic. We've taken a couple of our animals here and they are always treated with the utmost care.

My experience with the veterinary team is highly recommended! how to take my fur baby in end of her life and they met me with compassion and kindness and helped me through a very difficult time I'm forever grateful to them

Great experience at this hospital! Our poor dog was very sick and had to stay overnight to be treated. Everyone who worked with us was so kind, understanding, and thorough. They took such good care of our sweet girl and kept us well updated and informed. She is feeling much better now and we are so grateful for all the help we received. Highly recommend! 💙
