Wonderful care from the entire staff. My dog was so very sick and it was a mystery but they worked with me and together came up with a treatment plan that was doable. He recovered well and I am grateful for the care they gave as well as helping me thru deciding to give him a chance at recovery or euthanizing him because of how much pain he was in. Thank you so much!

I domt normally leave google reviews, but my after treatment experience here has been so horrible i feel like i have no choice. I had a 2 am porcupine needle emergency, left my area and drove here, arrived at 6 am, had her procedure scheduled at 9 am, which was delayed until noon, then out at 4pm. While I can understand getting delayed once my dog was stabilized and under observation, what i can't understand is why they failed to remove all the quills - I am now 3 days post operation and I have removed three quilt so far: one form her muzzle, one from her chin, and one from the tip of her nose. When I first noticed them emerging that night I called and was told that my.only option was to make the trip again, and while they would waive the emeegency exam fee, I would be paying out of pocket for sedation, iv fluids and another round of quill removal all over again. I have no idea how many were left in her and while I'm able to remove the visible quills as they emerge i have no way of knowing how many are left that arent visible.

I get here at 1am expectinga long wait .6 hours and $1380.00 dollars later still sitting here for a fish hook in his bottomlip.. completely ridiculous. When u paying that much . You would think the vets would hurry a lil instead of milking the clock here

There are no words to express how thankful I am for EVH and every person who works there. The two times I had to bring my dog there happened to be on holidays, Christmas Eve and the Fourth of July. I am incredibly grateful they are open 24/7 and willing to work holidays to care for animals when they need it most. I was astonished by the quality of care we received. From the front desk staff to the vets, everyone treated us with compassion, professionalism, and kindness. During both visits, the vets took the time to thoroughly explain everything and answer all my questions. I even spent the night in the waiting room both times, and the staff brought me blankets, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The second time we were there, I learned my 6yr old dog had widespread cancer and organ failure. The veterinarian was honest about the poor prognosis but made sure I knew all my options if I wanted to pursue treatment, which I did despite the slim odds. They called veterinary oncologists throughout Oregon to find someone open on the holiday who could take his case as fast as possible to give him the best shot we could. Unfortunately, Remi was diagnosed with hemophagocytic histiocytic sarcoma, an extremely aggressive rapidly spreading cancer that is almost always an immediate death sentence. After spending time together at a park and sharing one last Pup Patty from In N Out, I returned to the EVH for euthanasia because Remi was declining quickly and suffering. They made the euthanasia process as peaceful as possible. They had chocolate and treats for him before the injection and provided a quiet, comfortable room for our final moments. They treated Remi with dignity and love, and I will never forget that. Just 2 months earlier, Remi had received a clean bill of health at his check up. He was running 8mi with me daily and wrestling with his dog friends like always. I never imagined something could take him so quickly. I was absolutely devastated and heartbroken, and every person at the EVH showed both Remi and me extraordinary care, compassion, patience, and kindness during the most difficult experience of our lives. I cannot recommend the Emergency Veterinary Hospital highly enough. About Remi: I had just recently moved home from college during the pandemic, and like so many others, was suffering from loneliness. I was in need of a furry companion. I ran across a post of a woman who wanted to rehome a 4m old standard poodle puppy and I instantly knew he was my guy. His life was far too short, but man, oh man, it was sweet. I've worked from home ever since I got him so that meant he got to spend every day by my side, cuddling with me while I worked and heading out on adventures during every break. He was loved every single second of every single day. He made countless dog friends, road-tripped across America twice, and filled every day with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. We went on hundreds of hikes and trail runs and spent thousands of hours playing what I called "tackle frisbee." We truly lived life to the fullest together, and I wouldn't trade a single moment. Remi's favorite things was being chased, playing with his friends, and cuddling with his favorite humans, But his all-time favorite thing was simply being next to me, so that's exactly what he got for 99.9% of his life. I took him everywhere, and I refused to do anything without him. We were a package deal, and everyone knew it. He loved me more than anything, and the feeling was completely mutual. Losing him so young has been the most painful thing I've ever experienced. I'll miss him for the rest of my life. Cherish every moment with your furry friend. No matter how much time you get together, it will never feel like enough. ❤️ ps the video was taken just days before he passed, he was the happiest boy until the end

The man at the front desk was rude and acted as if my friend and I were an inconvenience to him. They still hadn't even examined her cat at 9pm and we got there shortly after 9am.

Our dog Summer died there because of their total incompetence. Summer had severe pneumonia and had extreme difficulty in breathing. They didn’t give her oxygen. Instead, they cut a portion of her uvula claiming that it might be blocking her airways. It didn’t help at all and it added bleeding to difficult breathing. Then they wanted to send her home. We refused and kept discussing with them potential remedies. But for some reason they would not give her oxygen which should have been the first thing they do. After 8 hours of labored breathing they convinced us to euthanasia. We paid $6000 to them for those 8 hours we were there and came back home without our dog. Unfortunately Eugene/Springfield does not have another urgent care veterinary. I haven’t seen this much incompetence and uncaring attitude in my whole life. I am also suspicious that they cut the uvula to add that extra $2000 to the bill. They were that uncaring!!!

Brought my 5 year old cat Tripsy in because she was experiencing unproductive wretching and acting very lethargic. The staff was very patient while my partner and I figured out the financial aspects of treatment, and Tripsy has been doing much better since we've brought her home. (Although she was a little loopy from the sedatives). I would absolutely take your animal here if you have an emergency.

Doctor Du is wonderful! I wish, I had gone to him sooner. He took a lot of time, to help me understand my dogs seizure condition. I highly recommend him! He is an exceptional vet! We are lucky to have him in Springfield!

I really could not have asked for a better ER vet experience. My family was out of the country when my beloved older dog fell very ill. Every single person at the ER was wonderful to work with. They all understood how upsetting this situation was for us and didn't hesitate to answer calls, send updates and talk through all of the options. They went above and beyond to coordinate care with other vets and always kept me aware of the information and next steps. They were kind and compassionate and I knew that my pet was in very good hands. They didn't give up on him and neither did we and today he is home with us and on the road to recovery. I will always be incredibly grateful to everyone who helped to save his life. Thank you so much for providing such high level and compassionate care.

2 month old kitten had goopy eyes. Just needed a quick check and some eye drops. Spent 5 hours here watching at least 8 other animals come, be seen, get treated and discharged. Ridiculous.
07.13.2026
All of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful when it came to my pups care. We came in not knowing how severe her situation was, but once it was discovered by the team they ensured my dog was treated in a way that kept me informed while also providing compassion for the situation. Dr. Wolfenden and all of the vet techs that assisted were extremely kind in their care and explanation of my dogs prognosis which helped me make informed decisions I was confident in. In a very tough situation they helped me keep my dog as comfortable as possible.

My cat wasn't doing good...he felt warm. Took him to this place.....was told by desk staff it would be a wait.....arrived at 2pm. At 11pm he still hadn't been seen by a vet.....9 hours....couldn't tell me when ....10 hours...12 hours....they wouldn't say. It seemed all the desk staff wanted to do was intake pets and deceive customers as to how long it would be before they were seen by the vet. I listened to the staff answer the phone and tell walk ins it would be a while.....yeah...like 10 hours...or more My cat had a low grade fever. The vet is overwhelmed while the staff lies about wait time. But one older customer used profanity and got real loud.....the vet saw their animal....they arrived hours after me and the condition of their pet was no worse off than mine. A horrible, disappointing, unprofessional clinic... Don't take your animal there unless it's dying. F- Beware The vet didn't even see my cat....after 9 hours... Get some more vets in there or tell your help to be truthful about wait times.....money mill

2½ hours and they can't even update you on anything. They just take your animal and disappear with no information whatsoever and the exam room was uncleaned and filthy, hair and dried drool all over the floor and exam table. Others were there more than 8 hours with no answers at all. It's like they don't even have an actual vet on-site and just keep your animals locked in a kennel in the back. 2½ hours and they didn't even get my dog antibiotics or any other care... what are they doing other than not doing their jobs... absolutely ridiculous... definitely recommend going anywhere else.

We were visiting family on the rural SW coast when a life threatening stomach torsion / gdv snuck up on our beloved German Shepherd. There were no clinics around us and it was night time. Our best shot was a 3 hour drive to this clinic so that’s what we did, and it wasn’t easy for either of us. Really impressed with the staff. Dr Rinaldi did the exam and surgery and from what I can tell he nailed it - good job. The best gauge I can use is our dog acting completely normal the minute his heavy sedation wore off. He absolutely would have gone on a long hike with us if we let him, his appetite is normal, and he still sings his songs well when I get home from errands. Beyond my expectations, it’s nice to get more time with him. The other vets who provided follow up care were all great. Thank you

So I went there because my dog had a Foxtail stuck in his nose and we waited there for 3 1/2 hours and my daughter got some snacks and then after a couple more hours we went inside and they said can we get you in a room and I said sure the room was so cold after a couple more minutes. I was sick of it and I left on my way out. They were like sorry for the wait in my mind. I was like you’re crazy and I’m going to visit a new vet tomorrow.

I just brought my cat home from a 4 day stay at Emergency Veterinary Hospital. I have to say it's a good thing they don't review their customers because I would have been maybe a 2 star customer. It's never pleasant when a pet emergency pops up. It's scary, sad and expensive. But they were very patient with me and answered all of my questions and worked with my budget as much as possible. And the care my cat received was excellent. Thank you so much for all you did for us!

This veterinary hospital treated both my sweet Bailey and me with such kindness and compassion. Everyone was caring, thorough, and genuinely supportive during an incredibly difficult and unexpected visit, as my girl was very sick. The staff kept me informed every step of the way, clearly explaining her condition and all of the available options. I truly appreciate the care, compassion, and support they showed us during such a heartbreaking time. Thank you all for everything you did for Bailey and for me. I will always be grateful.

My son and I brought his dog in last Sunday early morning I believe is 28 June around 3 o’clock I think everybody there was wonderful help my son through it because we had to put her down her name was Ragg, my son Joseph thinks you all and I thank you all! After we got home, my son put this together in his room for his best friend Ragg!

Staff were all very kind and knowledgeable, and diagnosed our dog with care. The service I did agree to was done as discussed. That being said, this whole process is an extremely outrageous sales pitch, using people's lack of judgment during a very stressful time to swindle folks out of lots of money. Everything came with an upsale. Great service, but insane cost.

Spent 4 hours at the vet for them to not even touch my cat for her exam since they wanted to sedate her and I said no to their outrages fees they were asking for. I came in and let them know I was on a budget. My poor cat sat in the back in her carrier terrified. Horrible of you to do that. Shame on you. I asked can I just get an antinausea to help her stop vomiting and they said if I don’t pay the exam fee I can’t have any meds. So I said they didn’t do the exam why would I pay for that? Because they LOOKED at her. Such a gross practice trying to get more money out of someone for something they didn’t even do.

Took my 2 1/2yo cat Charlie in at about 9pm on Saturday with his right eye bulging and what looked like a laceration just under the eye. When I arrived the staff was very patient and kind as they went over the process of taking him back and assessing his injuries and then they'd come get the rest of his information as well as give me an update as to what perhaps the next steps will be. They were very thorough and at no point did I feel like I needed to ask what was going on. There is also a monitor screen that shows each patient's "status". As I looked over at the snacks and drinks in the waiting room I sorta cringed thinking I was not about to spend $$$ on snacks when I knew this ER visit was going to be very expensive. Then after finding out the Treatment plan I was also told that there were snacks and tea/coffee/water etc. Again, the price of the visit was plenty and I wasn't about to add who knows how much extra for a bag of chips and a coffee. Well guess what? There was not fee/charge for the snacks nor drinks. That truly made such a huge difference, seems silly, but honestly I felt so taken care of and understood. People bring their beloved pets to the ER, After hours, knowing it's gonna cost a whole lotta money and they wait, and probably didn't eat dinner or would normally be asleep and not up hungry and thirsty and the thought of having to pay carnival prices for bag of chips and a drink only adds to the heart break of feeling defeated, overwhelmed and complete sadness. This is a big deal in my opinion. Thank you EVH. Dr Wolfenden text me (as to not awaken me if I'd been asleep)at about 4am to say all went well and that I'd be getting a call later in the AM to schedule discharge time. Every person was kind and patient that I encountered from the beginning. Oh and when I said I was going to go to my car to charge my phone, they said, if you'd like we have chargers here but you are welcome to do so in your car if you'd like.. I did because I also wanted to cry lots. This obviously was my 1st rodeo but not theirs lol.

We Are Forever grateful to this place, and we will never forget how they were able to save our dog's life. Months later and our little pup is better and stronger than ever! Emergency surgery on your pet is so stressful, and they helped in so many ways not only with the procedure being a success but also with every step they were able to help us be at ease and understand what was happening as it was happening. Thank you so much, and also little Namu is grateful.

Went in last night because my dog punctured her tounge on a stick and was uncomfortable and had some bleeding. Vet said she wouldn't let her open her mouth so could not evaluate the injury ( that I was able to evaluate because my dog trusts me, but of course your not allowed to comfort your dog there). Asked them to give me a quote on treatment. After waiting for 40 minutes it came back between low of 2300 and high of 3100 and asked me to sign off on it. I said no based on previous my experience as an emergency medical technician and the basics of evaluating a potential airway issue. They tried to convince me to purchase pain management meds from them and I told them that I already have them at home and asked for a recommendation on the dose. They responded by saying that's illegal to disclose. They eventually agreed to that after a struggle .I agreeded with them that an antibiotic I am familiar with would be appropriate. They tried to charge me 3x the amount I paid for it the next day at my vet. 30 vs 90. End of the day the treatment cost 350 instead of 3100 (high end) That's life changing money for some folks. I know emergencies are stressful, but the way this outfit tries to commit you to spending thousands more than you need to is scary.

The other night I called them as I had a feral female cat that had been in active labor for over 14+ hours and had multiple babies stuck. I live over an hour away from them and was told to just get her there and they would examine her and tell me what it would cost for an emergency spay/c-section of any remaining babies. However, once I got there, I was told to just take her back home and let nature take its course and see if she lived, that the dr wouldn’t examine her due to the fact that she was a feral cat. Had I known this before driving over 100 miles to get to them for help, I would have called in some favors with local vets that were already closed. As it was the next day, I had to have her rushed in with a local vet for an emergency surgery to save her life due to the fact her insides were already completely infected, which is why she was in active labor and unable to deliver her babies without my help, which the staff ridiculed me for doing once there. However, when I had called ahead, I had explained the entire situation and the fact that I was a nonprofit organization and they told me they’d help me with this cat. So the experience I was expecting between the phone call compared to when I got there was completely different, as when I got there they wanted $1500 up front just to examine her compared to the $149 that I was told on the phone. It should not have mattered that this was a feral cat; she was in distress and needed help. I needed the help and was extremely disappointed in this emergency clinic at how they refused to help and just responded with, “take her home and let nature take its course. She’ll either live or die.” Never once was I even told what it would cost to do an emergency surgery on her because the dr on duty that night refused to even look at her. Had I known that was going to be the case, I would not have driven all the way up there, especially with the cost of fuel currently, to try to save her life. I have never been more disappointed in a clinic as I was that night and still am today.

“Emergency” Veterinary Hospital might get better reviews if they dropped the word “Emergency” from the name. It’s blatant false advertising. Nothing in the way the unsympathetic staff behaved indicated the sense of urgency people of above average intelligence associate with the word “emergency.” I called at 1:15 and told them my dog had a foxtail seed in his paw. I had the same thing with a dog 25 or 30 years ago. A forceps gets out the seed, then bandage and antibiotics. “Can you take it out?” “Yes.” At 4:00 I was left the “Emergency” Veterinary Hospital with a $140 charge and no treatment of the paw. I got the same a lecture three times on Parvo because my dog had diarrhea. I asked when someone was going to look at his paw and got the same lecture on parvo. I waited 1/2 hour to confirm no parvo in our 9 month old fully vaccinated dog. Every time I pointed out how long we had been there one of the several employees working said “it’s an emergency hospital” as though “emergency” means people are going to move at a sloth pace and keep asking about unrelated health issues, asking the exact questions that were on the written form they made me fill out, taking vitals and insisting on an unnecessary parvo test, and spending the most time writing up a bill for the proposed treatment. Today my real vet took an 11:00 appointment and had the foxtail out at 11:36 for 1/4 the minimum price proposed by EVH. The EVH belongs to a Delaware-registered corporation with a principal place of business in Kent, Washington. It is obviously driven by profit and preys on people traumatized by pet emergencies.

Every single interaction with every member of the staff has been absolutely amazing. They TRULY care about the well being and comfort of the animals and the owners comfort as well. The building is very well cleaned, and stocked with snacks and coffee. I highly recommend this vet.

My young dog had a seizure a few days ago, we were seen as quickly as they could. Despite being obviously busy they kept checking on my pup, my partner and I while we waited to chat with the vet. The staff was not only attentive and kind to my dog but also checked in on my partner and I numerous times. Genuinely the most caring and supportive staff. They clearly laid out our options and did not pressure us into a decision we didn’t want. Everyone here was so wonderful! Highly recommend in a scary situation.

I brought my dog Tortle in December of this year. He was dying but I didn't know it for sure and the staff at Emergency Veterinary Hospital treated us with the utmost kindness, care, and every member went above and beyond during the toughest moment of my life. They worked to save his life and were there for him, me, and my husband and in Tortle's final moments. I couldn't imagine a more compassionate crew and I am truly grateful for the care they showed us.

Such great and amazing staff. Our cat had an accident on my daughter's lap on the way there and Hannah had her husband bring clean pants for her so didn't have to sit in pee pants! And of course, more importantly, they took great care of out Pip!!

Thank you for helping us when we brought in our kitty who had passed away. The kindness of the staff meant a lot in those moments.

I took my dog here for an emergency to be dealt with. He was peeing all over himself, throwing up, couldnt stand, was whining non stop, ear aches and they had us in a room for almost 2 hours without even so much as seeing a doctor walk by the door….then when my dog peed on the floor of the room they wanted to use a sample off the floor to analyze my dog, Ive been in biology long enough to know you dont take a contaminated (OFF OF THE FLOOR) sample OF ANYTHING for analysis ever. They have a terrible practice here, I took him to West Eugene and had him in and out within an hour and he was taken care of and was tended too the whole time we were there…..

I have only just arrived with my very sick 8month old Rottweiler. And the staff thus far has been perfect
04.04.2026
I will never take any animal to this emergency vet again. After incorporating they have become overpriced, and recommend unnecessary procedures.

Thank you so much to Dr. Hayati Wolfenden. She was very thorough in explaining everything, patient, and compassionate during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
03.27.2026
We came in early morning on a Saturday for our dog and the staff was friendly, prompt and empathetic. We had to make the difficult decision for our dog and the staff was understanding. They talked about our options and the process clearly about how they will let our dog pass away painlessly and peacefully. However, our experience turned miserable pretty quickly. We were left in the room that our dog passed away for almost an hour after the vet finished and took our dog's body. The door was opened slightly, so the staff might have heard us when we started to get mad when nobody came to give us an update afterwards. Finally, the vet assistant/tech came and apologized saying that there was a miscommunication and then we got our dog's remains. Then, we got a sympathy card in the mail, but it was for a cat. We had a dog! That was the last straw and made me want to write this review.

Found a kitten in bad health. Brought the kitten to the vet. Asked if they could let me know what the fate of it was if I called back and basically got a HIPPA rundown for animals. Im bringing the animal in to possibly be saved, not trying to steal someones information.

Heartfelt thank you to EVH for taking such amazing care of my dog. When I called in with an urgent medical situation, they got us right in the door and care started immediately. They were so kind and compassionate and took extraordinary care of our sweet boy. We received updates and pictures of our dog the entire time he was there. Raaka, the techs and all of the vets working on him were calm, caring and helped us understand what we were facing and all of the options. They even communicated with our vet and researched all things possible to try to help him. They were the bright spot in a terribly hard situation. We highly recommend EVH. Thank you for taking care of our sweet boy when we could not. ❤️

Upon arriving with my cat I let them know she should be given Gabapentin right away because she has a tough time at the vet. Two hours later they finally brought me back to let me know they had only checked her vitals (not even her temperature) and were unable to further assess her because of her mood. I would have thought that in those two hours they would have provided her the anxiety medicine necessary for them to further exam her. When they provided a long list of fees needed to continue the exam and I questioned those fees and the exam itself; the mood/friendliness of the care team shifted dramatically. I asked to have her discharged since she had been back there with no medication and bare minimum treatment. It took almost an hour to discharge her from the time I asked she be returned to me. When they said she was finally ready, they made me go back and get her into her carrier which feels completely incompetent that I had to do it on their behalf. An emergency vet clinic should be able to administer gabapentin and safely return a cat to its carrier.
03.16.2026
Either severely understaffed or incompetent. Not enough urgency. Longest I’ve had to wait for vitals to be checked. Needed to wait another hour for a discharge. What discharge? No treatment was being done. This place is an embarrassment. The place I went to in Portland was miles better. Not even close.

My pup had a surgery and had some strange breathing during recovery. Staff was kind and fast and helped my pet and myself quickly in the middle of the night

I brought my 6 month old black lab Winston to them very sick near death. They quickly diagnosed he had parvo and started treatment and saved his life. I can not thank them enough. Winston has made a full recovery and loves life. Amazing team and great communication!

We were in and out of multiple emergency hospitals and our primary vet trying desperately to understand what was happening with our dog. Out of the three veterinary hospitals and clinics we visited, this emergency hospital was the only one that took him in immediately, gave us clear cost estimates, and, most importantly, accurately identified what was wrong. Their team went above and beyond from the moment we walked in. After diagnosing him, they didn’t just send us on our way, they provided us with several oncology options and helped guide us through next steps during an incredibly overwhelming moment. Every staff member we encountered was compassionate, patient, and genuinely supportive. They treated our dog with kindness and treated us with empathy at a time when we needed it most. I’m deeply grateful for the professionalism and care they showed throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone seeking thorough, compassionate, and truly dedicated veterinary care for their pet.

I brought my cat here for what I thought may be an emergency. I called beforehand and let them know he had some pinkish urine. They urged me to come in immediately. Upon arrival, before even filling out paperwork...they took my cat to their back room. I don't like that they have a screen with all the animals pictures and names for people to look at. Pretty sure that would never fly in a human clinic. The vet came out to the waiting room to discuss my cat, rather than taking me and my cat in a room together to examine him in front of me, as our regular vet would typically do. She let me know I'd be given a "quote" for a urine sample. After a while longer, I get called into an exam room. My cat is still not present. The tech hands me a sheet like I'm at a restaurant, "it will be this at the low end, this at the high end". The high end was nearly $900 for a urine sample because they would have to use pain meds for it. I asked why pain meds would be necessary, I was met with resistance and also an air of "if you want your cat to suffer, that's your decision". I declined the sample and asked for my cat to be returned to me immediately. I waited about another 10-15 mins before I popped my head out of the room to ask the reception staff where my cat was. They didn't have an answer, one chimed in "they are working on discharge papers". I said "why would he need discharge papers? You aren't treating him." The vet then came in (again without my cat) and said "I will not have you speak to my staff that way." She told me my cat would assuredly need emergency care in the next 24 hours and gave me a list of others because they would not be having me back. I was OK with that. I will absolutely NEVER bring any of my pets here, and I will urge anyone I know to avoid it at all cost. This is a money grab, playing on the love we have for our pets. We have our cat on a new prescription food, pretty litter, and he's doing just fine. Side note: the tech I dealt with was incredibly rude to the older gentleman that brought a pup in that he thought was having a panic attack. When he asked the status she said "I don't know, it could go one way or the other. I don't have an answer for you."

Staff was wonderful, caring and very helpful in the difficult process of helping our Cajun cross over the rainbow bridge. Very professional and courteous . Offered all the time we needed, Didn’t rush us through our grieving Very thorough and talked us through every step of the process If I could I would give them 10 stars.
02.03.2026
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE ! I wish I could give this place absolutely zero stars , I came in with my dog acting strange I told them something was wrong. They suggested she ate something that was making her sick. The guy who tried to vaccinate her poked and prodded at her arm until I told him to do it another way. They sent me home after giving her nausea meds they didn’t listen to a word I said. Took her to another vet she’s has severe swelling in the throat they were surprised she was even breathing !!! She could have died , DO NOT GO HERE

They were very good at treating my cat. But the one guy there taking information for the billing needs to show some compassion instead of being all about if you have all the money for your bill.. he was pretty rude!!
02.01.2026
Very expensive unlike most vet clinics and made us wait 5 hours for our dog who was lethargic, couldn't stand, and was vomiting all day. They wouldn't see us, refused to give him the medical treatment unless we told them our payment plan and kept changing the prices even HIGHER than what we discussed.

Brought my dog Violet in, she is reactive and not friendly. All the staff were very understanding and professional and I felt comfortable in leaving Violet with them overnight. They were very upfront with costs and care, even letting us know that we could come visit her. I could not recommend this place even more, I felt that my pet was in good hands and now she is home feeling better than ever. Thank you to Dr. Johnson, Natalie, Rebecca, Dawn, and everyone else there!

Extremely predatory and kill happy. Only come here for an actual emergency, don’t believe them if they say your animal won’t make it till after you see your animal and do your best to pick the staffs brains about what’s really going on with your pet. I’d say much more but it would be an essay. They treat your pets like a useless waste of time piece of property and you like you are stupid. They try to shock you out of money using your animal as bait. Let’s just say the amount I paid upfront to this emergency vet just to be told I should euthanize my dog half a dozen times and get a small bottle of dog pain meds is the same as I paid for second opinion elsewhere which included a full physical exam, set of 4 X-rays, a stay at the vet so the could properly sedate him to take the X-rays, and more. I wish there were better options in Springfield for emergency care. My dog is doing great after his accident, btw. Glad I was able to see through the BS and not euthanize him or pay for made up problems and find better care for him elsewhere.

Plan on being there a loooong time, getting no updates, upsold on overpriced care where they push for unnecessary care and rediculous markups. I'm sure they workers are overworked, but the owners are clearly pushing a model they preys on people being scared and vulnerable. Also, for the person that monitors this page, save responding to me, you already lost my business and won't get me or my dog back.

On a Sunday night when our dog was in distress and couldn't walk, we took her to the Emergency Hospital for an assessment and treatment and were so impressed by the care she received and the people who helped us, including the reception staff, veterinarian, and assistants. We were very grateful for the care of the veterinarian, Dr. Barlow. She was awesome: patient, caring, competent, and thorough. She answered all our questions and explained everything in detail and with compassion. There is a lot going on in an emergency hospital, heavy emotions and anxiety (people AND pets), and every staff member we saw handled those big feelings with calm, kindness, and professionalism. It was a tough place to be for a few hours so I want to send my appreciation to all the people who are there day after day doing this meaningful and difficult work. We greatly valued your time and efforts in caring for our dog. The hospital is well-run, clean, and while you should expect to wait at various times, there is a clear and efficient process that is followed to manage the animals in their care. I am glad this emergency hospital is in our community and would definitely go there again.

These folks took such good care of our pup. She had a high fever and they guided us through the process with care and patience. They navigated a really high patient load with organization and attention.

Took one of my cats in on Christmas morning for a potential foreign body. They were super compassionate, understanding, and friendly. Highly recommend.

Maya 2 and 1/2-year-old border collie smelled something she couldn't resist I live in the country next to the river and I seen rats crawling over the wood pile on the back porch. So yesterday evening on dropped a couple of green mouse killer vape bars down deep in the wood pile.. 15 minutes later I went to let my border collie in and I looked up and I noticed that torn into the pile. I grabbed my flashlight and went out and looked and digging through where I had known. I tossed two bars of mouse poison. I could only find one! It didn't take much thought. I googled 24-hour animal hospital right? Nearest that I could find was us in pioneer parkway in Springfield. I called them, explained what had happened. I said I don't know that he's eating one, but I suspect I very strongly suspect that he has. I grabbed the bag of poison and I showed up 20 minutes later. They immediately checked them in and took them back. The most direct immediate approach that needs happen. And very very fortunate over there at the vet clinic. Very very fortunately, even though it was a neurotoxin got my Ranger had. It was not enough that it should impact you. I have a handful of things I need to watch out for the next 4 days. 5 hours of quality hospital emergency veterinarian service for less than $500! I warned them to expect review on Google and with only a little hesitation, those wonderful ladies in the office. Smile that me 💖

The doctor was professional and thorough, but the techs and front office staff are not. Other pet euthanasia's are spoken of loudly in front of the entire lobby, and they are clearly short staffed. It is felt by the patients left waiting in rooms for what is told to be a few short minutes turning into almost an hour while you sit there confused and your pet needing care, and the techs who are so blatantly and aggressively fake nice. it is just not a good combo and therefor I would advise others to seek immediately needed care elsewhere.

I have a federal license to have exotic animals for educational purposes and my fennec fox became ill at one of the worst times. Vets that can treat them are limited even at the best of times. His usual vet was unavailable and after some calls around I was suggested to call here. It was new news to me that they except exotics now. I called first and came in when they said the exotic vet started his shift. They took him in back right away while I filled out the paperwork. There was a wait of course since it's an ER for animals but I wasn't focused on the time. I've waited longer in other situations. It'll depend what cases are showing up. Everyone was nice. The vet tech took a through history. The vet was knowledgeable and explained things clearly. He even had the fennec reference ranges, but I had brought my copy that I have, since that's not always the case for exotics. They sent regular photo updates while he was hospitalized, so I included a couple. They also encouraged my visiting him or calling. He came home after a day and a half and is improving. As far as cost, it was actually not that bad. I'd say it's about on par with the current pricing at my regular vet, if we had to do that many tests, treatment and hospitalization.

Super caring staff here, helped out my cat Lizzie and me, their compassion was greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone working here.
12.10.2025
Ive been here twice now... I won't go into detail but the first visit was one of the worst days of my entire life and the people here helped me and my family through it. Every single person I talked to here was incredibly kind, reassuring, and extremely patient. Because of my first experience with them, we went back again when we had another emergency. And just like the first time, every person I interacted with in their office was amazing. On top of that, they're very reasonably priced, especially for an emergency clinic. I can't recommend them enough.
12.03.2025
Even though the wait kind of sucked I had a great experience there. Everyone there is absolutely sweet and showed amazing compassion. My cat isn't great with new people but she seemed to love everyone she had an interaction with as well. Highly recommend coming here simply for the amazing workers and great care.

I was there for a sad occasion. I knew that euthanasia for a little dog was what we were seeking. I called ahead and got the base price of $189 just to walk in the door plus the cost of euthanasia itself at $65 to total $254. Being on a budget and not entirely sure *when* our buddy was going to be ready, it was nice to know we could go in at any time and they would not leave us waiting too long. They were very sensitive and accommodating to my little guy and our family.

Tonight I took my Chihuahua in for pain in his front leg. Most likely due to overgrown nails that got snagged on a blanket. We only took him to emergency because Everytime he moved for one hour he yelped if we tried to pick him up he yelped and he only took a couple bites of his food. I called ahead to check if I had to pay at time of service as I only have access to a certain amount per day, I was told no so I took my dog in. Upon arrival I explained what had happened and they examined him when talking to doctor I was informed she wanted to do multiple things that weren't necessary and would have to pay before leaving in full. I chose not to do blood work or X-rays and just got some pain meds to take home my dog has been fine since leaving but had I done everything they wanted to I would have had to over 1000 before leaving we did some adjustments and it was still over my limit for today so had to drop pain meds at the vet for them to finish trimming his nails and just had the exam and meds to take home. They wanted to prove he also had something that isn't even common for his breed and wouldn't show up on blood work or an X-ray and a normal behaviour was what led them to think he may have a intervertebral disk disease. However the switching of front feet is normal according to his actual vet and we have noticed it is perfectly normal when we need to trim his nails. Our concern was that he had dislocated his shoulder or a toe which the doctor felt no signs of and our dog didn't react in a way associated with pain during exam, we also though he may have cracked a toe nail. My biggest problem is that they said no payment due at time of service over the phone and then come to find out I had to pay everything in full at time of service. Otherwise staff was very nice and professional. However we will not be going back.

Read online they were good vet services and kind hearted vets & staff. They tried to help our boy out and stated they had to have the funds right there and then in order to save his life with surgery we provided that we would have the money the next day or two showing the two loans that were pending to cover the cost to save our boy but because it was a Sunday night. They said they couldn't do anything further with the life saving surgery unless money was upfront. We tried relentlessly on different borrowing apps to get funds quicker for about 3 hours showing them we are trying. But to no avail. They provided us a list of vets in the morning that could probably help. We were sent back home because of no funds and because we are in recession-they stated, but we showed in the morning we would have it for them or atleast half until the following day. Unfortunately he passed on the way to vet in my sons arms in pain only 7 years old. I tried to take optimistic side that understand society has screwed them over with not paying but we showed them providing proof we would have in the day or two to save our boy even with $9,975.00 in debt (emergency surgery) even with the APR which is dOUble BUT we were determined to try and save his life. Which WE tried but still feel like the failure he lost his life. I wish I never selected this facility but all the reviews seemed like they could help. No faith in humanity I wish I was exaggerating this but this is all true. Make sure to have money when coming to this facility or you won't be saving your family member

My family was incredibly impressed with the care we got from this clinic. Not only were they prompt and kind, but they sent us pictures of our pet for his entire stay! This is an emergency clinic so of course they’re expensive, but upon picking up our cat they even gave us money back. I’ve never had such a stressful experience be handled with so much care. Thank you Dr. Johnson and team!

About two months ago, my cat Peaches went into a kidney crisis after accidental lily poisoning. I brought her to EVH on my vet’s recommendation, and I’m so grateful I did. Core at the front desk was very helpful and made sure Peaches was immediately taken to the back while I finished paperwork. Dr. Quigley was incredibly compassionate and walked me through all my options while being mindful of my budget. I was in the middle of moving and could only visit once a day, but I received frequent phone updates, and Lauren, the tech, even sent me photos and reassured me that Peaches was getting lots of attention. The whole team was professional, efficient, and caring. There was a wait when I arrived, but that’s to be expected in any ER. Lily poisoning is usually lethal, but EVH saved Peaches’ life, and I couldn’t be more grateful. She is now healthy, completely back to normal and living her best lazy cat life thanks to you guys.

I cannot express the gratitude I have for the staff here. The compassion and kindness they showed us in a very difficult time with our beloved ferret Buddy, I will never forget. Thank you all for everything you did. Especially Megan. I can't thank you enough for going above and beyond for our baby.
10.31.2025
They told me to shake my dog to get him to throw up which is super dangerous. I just want them to provide better training to their staff but they won't email me back. They don't care if they hurt animals I guess.
10.27.2025
Just want to say thank you again to Melissa, Dr. Quigley, and all of the staff here for their help yesterday with my elderly dog. He was ready to go, and their kindness and professionalism was off the charts. It’s so hard to put down a pet, and they were wonderful on a hard day.
10.21.2025
They told me to shake my dog to get him to throw up, which is malpractice. I will be filing a complaint against them with the OVMEB. Update: the manager refuses to email me back. They continue to shake dogs to throw up which can kill them. Horrible people. All I want is better training for their staff and they ignored me.

The people at Emergency Veterinary Hospital are the best of the best - incredibly proficient and professional, while also deeply caring and empathetic. We've taken a couple of our animals here and they are always treated with the utmost care.
10.19.2025
My experience with the veterinary team is highly recommended! how to take my fur baby in end of her life and they met me with compassion and kindness and helped me through a very difficult time I'm forever grateful to them
10.14.2025
Great experience at this hospital! Our poor dog was very sick and had to stay overnight to be treated. Everyone who worked with us was so kind, understanding, and thorough. They took such good care of our sweet girl and kept us well updated and informed. She is feeling much better now and we are so grateful for all the help we received. Highly recommend! 💙

The best place I could have chosen to take my cat after his tail pull injury. The vet and vet techs here were so beyond accommodating to me on a night that honestly was really just horrible. They literally saved me and my cat by taking great care of us and working out a plan with me when I had to unexpectedly leave my cat there to take care of my own personal health. The most compassionate staff works here and I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

The staff at this clinic were kind and welcoming, and the veterinarian who initially treated my peacock seemed helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my overall experience left me disappointed and concerned. The main vet appeared visibly overworked and frustrated, which affected the quality of care. He quickly became dismissive, ignored several of my questions, and abruptly left the clinic without answering my questions . It was clear to me that he was under pressure—likely from being short-staffed and overwhelmed—but that doesn’t justify disregarding a concerned client or their animal in need. I had specifically asked for lab samples to be sent to the California Animal Health and Food Safety Lab (CAHFS), but the clinic refused unless I paid an exorbitant fee. I ended up transporting the vials myself to UC Davis, where the test was processed for under $100. It felt as though I was being taken advantage of simply for requesting an alternative diagnostic option. I had also been told the vet would be available when I arrived, but he wasn’t. After a four-hour drive from California, I waited another four hours at the clinic, unnecessarily stressing my animal. A simple call or update would have made a world of difference. I caution others who consider this clinic. While some individual staff members genuinely seem to care, In my opinion, some recent management policies seem more profit-driven, which may be affecting the quality of care and the well-being of both clients and staff. The experience left me feeling that monetary incentives are being prioritized over patient care, and that the emotional toll on the employees is beginning to erode and show in their interactions. It’s unfortunate, because there is potential here for excellent care—but unless this clinic starts putting animals and their owners before corporate profit, I can’t recommend it. I would’ve done more to escalate my concerns but I’ve had Some pregnancy complications that have prevented me from taking action and writing this sooner. I want to be clear that everything I’ve shared is my honest opinion and based on my personal experience at this clinic. This is the correct clinic. I have your address on my receipt. So I'm reposting my review.

Fantastic staff, very willing to help during tough times.
10.03.2025
Reading the 1 star reviews has me wondering if people actually went to this emergency room or not because I personally had nothing but a great experience. All of the staff I had talked with were all very nice and caring, and everyone of them was able to answer whatever question I had. The $500 deductible seems like a lot at first, but once you realize that they will pay back whatever extra that doesnt get used its not that bad. Especially for an emergency veterinarian. The vet that talked with me about the treatment plan was very knowledgeable on the topic and was very clear on what the choices were to go with. I would personally take my dog back here if she ever has any more emergency situations in the future.

I can’t say enough good about the care, attention to detail and concern we received at EVH. We arrived very worried with our beagle three times in 48 hours. In the end, a tricky bowel and colon obstruction surgery was completed with success. The communication and responsiveness were top notch. These are amazing people working in a beautiful patient/owner centered environment. Thank you, EVH; we wouldn’t have Sadie with us anymore without you

Was visiting Eugene Oregon for a few days when my dog came down with some sort of bug .. wasn’t scheduled to come back home for several more days and knew my dog needed treatment so was thrilled to find a 24 hour emergency vet…arrived around 7:30pm and got checked in and was moved into a treatment room within 30 minutes of arriving…sat in there with my dog for an hour and nobody showed up…popped my head out and asked somebody if it was going to be much longer before the vet would come in and assess my dog… I was assured that somebody was going to go check and see how much longer and they would be back… Waited another hour and went out into the reception area to talk to the front desk and ask why I’ve been in there now for two hours with no vet… When one of the clients waiting in the reception area told me that it will be hours before I see a vet and that they have been waiting for four hours already and just saw a vet… Needless to say I went back into the room. We did another half hour and just decided to jump in the car and drive six hours to get home and see my own vet… I hope nobody else has a sick animal and comes here for help as it was an absolute waste of my time. * This place is unreal..as you can tell from their response, it’s a standard preformed answer…”basically we don’t give a rip” 🙄
09.30.2025
Incredibly fast service, they got my rabbit in to be seen IMMEDIATELY right when I walked into the door. The vet techs and veterinarian's bedside manner was incredible and they even ended up charging me less than the original estimate was for my bunny's care.

My husband and I were amazed, thrilled by and grateful for the staff and service we received for our dog. He intimidates others, but the staff knew how to work with him. They were very professional and thorough in checking him out and kindly answered all our questions. They were very friendly and it was clear that they were in their jobs because they loved and cared about animals, rather than simply to process clients and make money. In fact, after checking him out, they determined our dog didn’t need to be admitted and didn’t charge us anything. This hospital and staff are amazing. We recommend them 1000% !!!!!

The Staff is kind caring and profession. Couldn’t be happier with their care of my sweet dog.

***********PLEASE HEAR ME OUT************ Do not take your pet to this place. From the $500 required "emergency CPR" fee that must be paid up front to the $2,000 phone call where I was told that my dog was already given the anesthesia and that I needed to check my email and to follow the link to send $2k for a CT scan that had never been discussed prior to the anesthesia. This place is a joke, they don't care about you or your pet. Even the generic response here in the Google review section is giving me the creeps. For a little cyst on my dog's neck I waited a total of 12 hours in the waiting room and it cost me well over $4k. They wanted more but I refused. When I finally got my dog back she smelled horrible. She smelt like she was laying in her own urine for hours. When the helper handed my dog to me my dog pooped all over me and the helper. I urge everybody to seek a different after hours vet.

Amanda, Morgan, and Dr. Cara Hettick were awesome - esp Cara. So grateful for her time and expertise.
09.16.2025
Dr Megan Steffen is the best Vet I have ever came across. She took such great care of my German Shephard. He was in a lot of pain and I unfortunately had to let him pass and I am very glad Dr Steffen was the one to help us. She is very kind. I will recommend this place over and over because of how well she and her team treated us.
09.10.2025
We took our dog in, was given a quote for a 48 hour service to help him, and then when we went to pay before, they would finally help him they called us back into the room and said that they were going to reevaluate the quote and double the price on everything and said that they were only going to keep him for 24 hours instead of 48 and charge us double the price They told us that it would be 24 hour charge. We ask how many hours are in a service they said 12 they charged us for 48. We came home leaving our dog there to get taken care of two hours after we got home. They called us and told us to come get our dog. I highly recommend never taking your animal to that place always take them to Portland emergency hospital. You will regret if you ever take your animal there it is not worth your time zero experience kids running the place. Just a complete joke. Do your homework before you go.

We’ve been here twice. First time was for our dog who, unbeknownst to us, ate a cannabis vape pen that a house guest inconsiderately left behind. We were treated well. Second time was this evening. My kitty had been being treated for a mysterious lung issue by local vets, but he just got worse and worse. So we rushed him in, and made the decision to euthanize. The staff here were wonderful. They handled our difficult situation with grace and gave our beloved pet the quick and gentle care that we know he needed. They gave us a lovely private room and all the time we needed to say goodbye. The vet who came in to perform the euthanasia was soft and caring. I thank them for their quick action and understanding. Tonight, we went through one of the worst night of our lives. The folks here did all they could to make the experience as gentle and peaceful as they could. I am so grateful for the services they provide. Thank you,

This is a terrible business. My wife took our dog in with a lump on his neck. She waited 4 hours for an examination. Then they told her it was either an infection or cancer. That was pretty obvious from the beginning, not helpful at all. They offered a treatment plan that was fluffed up with lots of unnecessary items. They needed to do a x-ray and a cat scan for a cyst/infection. They refused to prescribe antibiotics for him. They didn’t take any simple samples for a lab. So she walked out with a $4000 estimate and zero treatment or help. Then paid the exam fee. This place has terrible communication and will definitely take advantage of any emotional person seeking treatment for their animal. I would drive somewhere else and avoid these scam artists. They sure know how to charge up a bill!

First I think that there should be somewhere in your own website to leave feedback, so that people can avoid leaving a negative review. Now to talk about my experience with this poorly maintained hospital, I took my 9year old cat in on 8/30/2025 after we suspected she had a seizure. We arrived around 11:30am, gave a brief medical history to the receptionist and was told I would be “talked to shortly, for more detailed history”. After watching dozens of people come in and immediately get sent into exam rooms, and sitting in the waiting room for 1.5 hours without hearing ANY news about my cat, I asked what was happening to be told she was “non emergent” and HADNT BEEN SEEN YET. They hadn’t taken vitals, nobody had even LOOKED at my cat in 1.5 hours, she was shoved into a cage and ignored for 1.5 hours. It was then that they asked if we would authorize pain meds for her, after she had already been sitting back there IN PAIN for 1.5 hours. I decided to take my cat home and risk the weekend while I wait for her actual vet to open, so that I can take her somewhere where she will actually be cared for. Apparently a seizure is not an emergency for this EMERGENCY hospital, I would HATE to see an actual emergency. I will avoid this place for any vet needs for the foreseeable future.

I can't express how great the entire staff is and how they showed care and love for our pup. So happy to have found an emergency vet that I can highly recommend to anyone. Thank you all for the help with our little Stinkee.
08.24.2025
The staff are so friendly here. We had to bring our 2 year olde english bulldog in for swallowing a corn on the cob. They went above and beyond to help my poor Bella. They literally brought her canned chicken, baby food & wet food. One of the vet techs Anastasia was so attentive and kind to Bella. She helped keep her calm and relaxed. They explained everything to us very thoroughly.
08.23.2025
Wonderful staff! They were prompt in getting information for my cat, Lulu. The doctor was very nice and her team went out of their way to make calls to see if they could find other specialty surgeons for repairing Lulu’s diaphragm for a lower cost. They explained everything in detail and were very helpful. Thank you so much!
08.10.2025
Wonderful staff and overall great experience! We took our 6 month old puppy in on a Sunday evening with concerning symptoms. We were able to immediately check in and were put in a private room because of her age. The veterinarian, techs, and assistants were all professional, supportive, and kind. Thankfully our stay wasn’t too long, but I would highly recommend this clinic in an emergency situation!
08.09.2025
I came in thinking I was going to have to put my dog down, but they actually ended up saving his life for less than $200. Granted, I didn't have any expensive lab work or testing, but based on the doctor's expertise, she was able to diagnose him and treat him and stayong within my budget. I was seen by Dr. Holly Arnold, and she was amazing. The entire staff, from the front desk to the assistance were so kind and compassionate. Not only did they say my dog's life, but they immediately put me at ease. I will never be able to repay their kindness. It took me 2 hours to get here, but it was worth it. It can be very expensive going to an emergency vet, but they really kept it low for me. Overall, it was a very positive experience, considering the circumstances!!
07.30.2025
This company made a non-medical mistake that was a complete accident. Once I pointed it out I expected some pushback but they owned the problem right away and bent over backwards to correct the situation. I was very impressed. All the staff members I interacted with were great and understanding of the situation and also very apologetic. Great experience over all. In addition they recommended some medication for pain that enabled my 12 year old Rottweiler to walk to the beach and chase tennis balls again. He’s a happy boy now.
07.30.2025
The staff and medical team here is absolutely amazing, my cat Simon went in for urinary blockage from cat crystals and everyone was just so kind and helpful. They constantly kept me informed on everything going on, especially Connie, she was an absolute angel and I can’t thank her enough for everything she did for me and my baby. Thank you guys :)
07.29.2025
Both my girlfriend and I have had wonderful experiences. Quick attention and extremely helpful. Connie is the single best person I have worked with for my animals health and is a SAINT.
07.26.2025
Nice and kind staff. Helped my gf with her cat issues. Only cost a couple hundred bucks

We had a wonderful experience with EVH; our cat ate an overdose of sedative and spent the night at the hospital. They pulled him through, calling with updates . Doctor was so approachable, helpful, kind, good sense of humor. All of the staff was kind and helpful. What really shocked us was the cost of all his treatment and overnight stay! Shocked because it was FAR LESS than we expected! Also, a neurologist, doctor Du, recently joined the hospital and he is excellent! He thoroughly examened my dog and was the only doctor who gave us an honest assessment ultimately saving my dog from prolonged suffering. Thank you so much, Doctor Du. I’m grateful you have become part of the Emergency Veterinary Hospital. Terrific hospital, staff, everything.

Update: I completely forgot that we took our boy here before. Reading my first review is still the same now. We unfortunately had to make the hardest decision of our lives and put our beloved dog of 15 years down yesterday... The staff here was unlike anything I could EVER ask for. They were kind, patient and all around just the best place we could have taken our boy for care. I am so grateful to them for how they treated us and our sweet boy. We are heartbroken, but the way they treated us helped in some way. Please consider this for your visit. They are truly the best. Before taking my dog to this place, I read the reviews. Most of the reviews I read were awful and almost turned me away. I'm so glad I pushed through and went with my gut and took my dog anyway. The people there were so nice and so helpful and just all around a good experience for me. We were there a long time, yes. But that is to be expected, I think for an emergency.
