The waiting rooms were nice, comforting, and relaxing while my Dog was evaluated. The vet very clear and warm hearted when she came to talk to me about my dogs situation. I highly recommend Emerald city emergency clinic. I trust them with my pup.

I had to visit Emerald City Emergency Clinic at midnight on a Tuesday for what was, admittedly, a ridiculous reason. My dog had just been neutered and managed to get around the soft collar we had put him in and we couldn't get him back into his hard plastic collar...even the attempt was a disaster. So down to the E-Vet we went. The front desk staff was kind, speedy, and professional and one of the vet techs was able to get the hard collar on in about 60 seconds; no screaming, peeing on the floor, or running around (from her or the dog). They even were incredibly generous and didn't bill us since they were able to fix the issue quickly and without involving the veterinarian. Absolutely wonderful experience.

Justin, we’re sorry about the e-collar adventure, but we’re glad our team could help you and your pup get it sorted out! Sometimes an extra set of hands makes all the difference. We’re always here if you need us.

Jonathon was extremely helpful, compassionate and supportive during our visits to pet emergency. We went through a roller coaster of emotions while our pet was in need, but Jonathon’s positivity and support were extremely reassuring. He even went out of his way to explain Care Credit to my spouse and I which we signed up for immediately after our visit. It will always be challenging to see our beloved pet deal with health concerns. But it was reassuring to know he was in good care with Jonathon!

Dr. Zaragoza was very thorough in explaining all that was going on with my dog Dozer, he is well and I appreciate this clinic so much. (2026) Also, in 2023 I had another dog (Zoey) and they had helped with her end of life care before she passed. Very compassionate clinic, definitely would recommend.

Thank you so much for your kind words. While we always hope you won’t need our services again, it truly means a lot when clients trust us enough to return years later. It was such a pleasure seeing Dozer this morning - he is such a sweet little piglet! We are always here if you need us.

The veterinary care our dog received was exceptional. Every member of the team showed genuine compassion and took the time to clearly explain what was happening when our dog had an infection requiring emergency surgery. Having only rescued our pup two days earlier, we were overwhelmed and scared, but Dr. Fukuzato walked us through everything in a way that was easy to understand. She presented several treatment options without any pressure. Surgery happened the same day, and our dog was back with us the next morning in much better shape. They were also readily available for aftercare support. We’re deeply grateful to Dr. Fukuzato and the entire team and highly recommend them.

On Tuesday, February 10, I took my puppy here because it was the closest clinic to me as I have just moved to Seattle the day prior and my dogs hernia repair incision was looking like it could possibly be infected. He also had a lot of sniffles going on so I didn’t know if maybe he had kennel cough As well since I had to put him in daycare for a few days during our move. Anyways, I took my dog here and they gave him a look And told me that they would recommend that they x-ray him because he could potentially have pneumonia and things weren’t looking good for him. Not really feeling like I had an option, I asked how much would that be and they told me that my estimate bill would be $1100… They were making it seem like I should be really concerned and worried about him and that he’s showing signs of illness so I told them to go ahead and do what they needed to do and about an hour later the doctor calls me and told me that my dog is actually fine and I just need to give him some people Benadryl And that his wound is not infected. They diagnosed it as seroma and it should go away on its own in a few months…? They just told me that he needs to wear a cone 24/7 for the next seven days. It’s now the 15th he’s been wearing a cone 24/7 and his incision looks worse now. I called to get a follow up opinion and texted them a picture of what his incision looks like now and they just told me they don’t like the way it looks. I wish they would’ve just correctly diagnosed it at the time and prescribed me antibiotics or topical ointment to fix the problem not just let it fester. For paying over a grand, you would think that they would actually give me something helpful. My entire experience with this clinic has not been amazing. It seems like they only want your money. I feel like I was taking advantage of and made to feel as if his condition was a lot worse than what it actually was in order to get me to pay more for them to Improperly diagnose him. I would absolutely not recommend this place. They only want your money. It seems like I’m not the first person that has had this experience as well according to other reviews.

Hi Susannah, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear how stressful this situation has been, especially while settling into a new city and trying to make sure your puppy was okay. We never want you to feel pressured or taken advantage of while seeking care. Our team is driven by a deep commitment to giving the best medical recommendations for our patients, and those recommendations are always made with their health in mind, not financial motivations. When symptoms could indicate something more serious, diagnostics may be recommended so we don’t miss a potentially urgent condition. Medical conditions can also change as healing progresses, and rechecks may be needed if things worsen or don’t improve as expected. We’d really appreciate the chance to speak with you directly and see how we can help moving forward. Please feel free to contact us at (206) 634-9000 or ECEStaff@lakefieldvet.com and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team. We wish the best for you and Leo and hope he’s feeling better soon.

I chose I won't city emergency clinic to handle the after life of a family pet princess. They were very understanding in the fact I was dealing with the loss of what was a family member They were kind soft spoken and wanted to make sure that I was taken care of. They were fast on getting princesses ashes back home to my family. It's nice to know that there is a place that is open 24 hours when you need them. After returning from a walk, my dog was pacing and panting, and wasn't interested in a treat, or milk. i know my dog and this was serious. i live near Greenlake. Evergreen City Vet is nearby so i took him there immediately. i rang the doorbell and was let inside. i was told to sit in the waiting area. i waited for 45 minutes and NO ONE CAME! i left and within 25 minutes i had arrived at S Seattle Vet Hospital. my dog was immediately taken to the exam area and required an overnight stay. I will NEVER, EVER take my dog to ECVH.

All emergency vets are stressful, not places you’d ever want to be, and inherently expensive. I won’t lie about the charges I paid to take my cat here, but the receptionists + doctors were incredibly attentive, communicative, and helpful in getting my cat the emergency care he needed. I’m incredibly grateful for the staff and doctors who made sure my cat was safe and stable—this place was a safe spot to bring my little guy & while it’s probably not the cheapest place in the city to bring a pet during an emergency, I feel lucky that he had such kind, gentle, and knowledgeable doctors and staff around him. They called and texted me with updates, sent me photos of my cat, answered my countless stressed-out, mid-sob questions, and consulted with me before administering any new treatments, medications, or procedures. I understood my bill before paying, was told when new treatments would increase that total amount, and wasn’t charged more than we had communicated about when he was admitted to their hospital. Just as an FYI, if you bring your pet in and end up having to bring them back, if you get them back in before the end of a doctor’s shift that day, they will not charge you for another emergency check-up, which I feel is very thoughtful and reasonable of them. The office did not try to convince me to do procedures or tests that they did not feel were necessary, and made sure I understood all risks and benefits of all of ways they were administering treatment. I can’t say I enjoyed being here but that is because of the situation they were helping me with. And god forbid if someone I know needed an emergency vet, I would recommend this place. Thank you to this clinic so so much for all of your help making sure my cat got home safe and healthy!

Called for help, they went straight to the money. $216 was the price of exam, when all I needed was to ask questions, I called a non-emergency vet and THEY ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS!!! Didn't need to take my dog in, but I'm taking her anyways and paying whatever they want... my dog is my baby, not a money grab. Avoid these people, find someone who cares

Michael, We’re very sorry this was the impression you were left with. We understand how important your dog is to you, and our team truly cares about every patient we see. By law, we’re unable to provide medical advice over the phone without an established Veterinary Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR). This helps ensure that any recommendations we make are safe and tailored to your pet’s specific needs. We also strive to be fully transparent about our pricing and the care included in an exam. If you’d be open to it, we’d really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly and see how we can make things right. X-ray's are almost 2.5x-3x market rate here, and the service is really bad depending on the vet you get. The vet (Emily) didn't really make me feel like I could trust her with her lack of words/communication throughout the entire process which I felt was unprofessional since real doctors do this. I genuinely did not trust the vet based on the cash grab vibe That being said, I don't blame the vet personally, just seems like a clinic that functions more like a business. I would've been comfortable paying if the service was better

Forever grateful for this clinic, its administrator Kirstin and Dr. Jordan Stankowiak. After thousands at another vet hospital that ended with no diagnosis I spent an hour reading reviews to find another clinic that I could go to and have faith in while now on a tight budget but needing to save my baby. I stumbled upon the reviews for Emerald City Vet and the kind words about the hospital administrator, Kirstin and took my chances. They took my sweet boy in overnight, the receptionist extended the pick-up hrs for me and the drs called me every couple hours with updates. Dr. Jordan Stankowiak ended up being the Dr to diagnose him and he was so kind and patient on the phone every time, answering my 100 questions. My cat ended up being diagnosed with FIP so is on 12-weeks of expensive medicine. I called Jordan after a couple weeks to see the urgency of a check up at his primary vet because I am trying to put all extra money towards the medicine for now. He kindly told me to cancel his vet appointment and just bring him back to him same day for a free check-up. He not only did a basic check and weight check but also made sure he had no more fluid left in his abdomen because he knew how paranoid that was making me. He told me while he is on the medicine I can bring him back every few weeks to the clinic to make sure he is responding well and getting better. I will forever be thankful I found this place and for Dr. Jordan Stankowiak! Also if you have kiddos with you - this place will provide amazing snacks - another bonus :-)

I lost 3 pets this year. Two of them were cared for by the staff at Emerald city. My ex wasn't taking care of our dog and I had taken him back to get him the care he needed, upon listing his symptoms to another vet, I was told I needed to take him to an emergency vet. I was in a panic when I brought him in, and when the prognosis wasn't good they were so kind and compationate to me, giving me time to make hard decisions and process what was happening. A few months later my 18 year old cat started showing sign of being ready to pass. Because they took such good care of me here with Monty, I brought my cat Carmella here to be laid to rest. I interacted with different people with this visit and they were just as kind and compassionate. I don't remember his name but when one of the vet techs called to tell me Carmellas ashes were ready, he stated he remembered me coming in with Monty and just wanted to say he was so sorry I was having such a rough year. That man deserves a raise, he was so kind with Monty and his kindness really soften a devastating blow as Monty could have had several more years of life in him. Thank you for handling my fur babies with such dignity and compassion, I cannot express how much it means to me.

The man who helped you was one of our incredible CSR's, and he wanted to respond to you personally: Hello Austien, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a heartfelt review for the team and our hospital. Clients like you are why we do what we do, and knowing that we were able to make a small positive difference in what otherwise is an awful situation reinforces our decision to work in this field. As you wrote, I did not get the chance to meet Carmella, but thank you for trusting us with her care. I am grateful that she got to experience her time here with you, clearly with no shortage of love. The same goes for Monty. I remember him very well. He was such a cute little guy, and Monty was a perfect name. Thank you for giving me the chance to meet him. I hope you're doing well. Thank you again for taking the time to write us, and if you ever need help again in the future, we are here to support you. Just give us a call :) Best, Julian Henry-Surgeon and the entire ECEC Team

At around 4:30 in the morning, I brought my 11 year-old dog in who out of the blue was having extreme vomiting and diarrhea issues. After waiting for a diagnosis someone came in with a paper saying I could pay around 3500 for treatment or if more was needed the estimate would be around 4500. Before I paid anything, I asked if my dog was going to be OK or if I should instead put her to sleep. I was told my dog would be OK, but she had pancreatitis and they would need to keep her over the next night. The next day I was told I could pick her up between 10 and 12. Wanting her to get as much care as possible. I waited until 12. I was in contact with the clinic during this time, though. After waiting in the office for about an hour and a half, they finally brought her out and told me she would be fine, I just needed to change her diet. And if I wanted, I could buy some of the cans of food there. I said yes, I would do that. I then got another bill for around 1500. I said that’s a little expensive for food and was told that was for some other treatments. None of which they asked me if they could do. I took my dog home and within two months I had to euthanize her. She had acute leukemia and was suffering. Had I known this originally I would never have paid almost $6000. I love my dog, but I also didn’t want her to suffer and I am extremely disappointed in this clinic for telling me my dog would be fine, and having to pay so much when she should have just been euthanized then. on a side note, all of the staff is very young and I don’t think have enough experience. Including the person who wanted me to pay the extra amount the last day, who had no idea what it was for, and had to go ask.

We are so sorry for your loss and understand how devastating it is to say goodbye to a beloved companion. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. When your pet came to us, our team treated her based on the symptoms she was presenting at that time. Pancreatitis was the diagnosis we were able to make with the information available, and she responded to treatment during her stay. Unfortunately, acute leukemia is very difficult to detect in the early stages, and it was not apparent during her visit with us. We know how heartbreaking it must feel to later learn of such a serious underlying condition. Regarding your concerns about communication and charges, our goal is always to be as clear and transparent as possible with treatment plans and costs. We understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate emergency care, especially when emotions are high. Your feedback is important, and we will use it to continue improving our explanations and reviews of estimates, invoices, and treatment updates. Regarding your comment about our staff, please be assured that every team member, regardless of age, is trained and supported by experienced doctors. Seeking clarification from a veterinarian when questions arise is the correct and expected protocol, and we appreciate your patience in that moment. We are deeply sorry for the loss of your dog and for the pain you are experiencing. Our team will continue striving to provide compassionate care for both pets and their families during these difficult times.

I took my sick cat here and I had a really great experience. The team was so kind and informative, they were so communicative about the price of treatments, and my cat felt so much better after he was in their care. They had a ton of resources for payment plans and insurance options and were fully transparent about the price of treatments. I took my cat here twice. Once for an eye injury from a cat fight and another time for a broken leg. They were quick to get us in and get him on pain meds right away. They brought us into a private waiting room, which was really helpful to have a space to wait quietly. They also had snacks, water, and tea available during our wait. They were really communicative even though they were incredibly busy. We had a long wait time the second time (2-3 hours) but they had more urgent cases to treat beforehand, which is how it should be. Each time the vet came into the room and explained exactly what was going on and what treatment they were looking at as well as cost estimates for everything. They got our consent and gave us a cost estimate before doing any treatment. The vet said we could call at any time day or night with any questions and they did a great job of answering all of our questions and explaining in detail exactly why they were doing each item they billed for. Our cat had to stay overnight and we worked with both the daytime and nighttime vets...both of whom were very kind and detailed. We had a great experience overall. Emergency visits are scary and costly, but everyone working there did a great job of staying calm and communicating with us in a compassionate and informed way.

My puppy was hit by a car. I called Emerald City within minutes of the accident to ask if they were available (they were) and we rushed over. Our puppy spent 48 hours at Emerald City in the oxygen cage and was treated by three separate doctors. We received numerous phone updates, photos of our little guy, and a diagnosis giving us a path forward. They worked with us afterwards to prescribe additional medication and send our puppy's file to various specialists. I am confident that our puppy received the best care and turned one of the worst days around. I am very grateful to Doctors Stankowiak, Zaragoza, and Mullins as well as Julian at the front desk. Thanks for taking care of our puppy! FYI this is the second time we have visited Emerald City, our first visit was two years ago with our prior dog for anaphylaxis from bee stings. Our experience was similar that time as well. While we hope to not have another emergency, we are very grateful to have this excellent clinic in the neighborhood. Thank you

I woke up to my cat Frank, lethargic, vomiting, unable to use the bathroom and refusing to eat, I brought him in and was given the devastating news that he had a blocked urethra and a concerning heart arrhythmia, if left untreated it would kill him. I was given an estimate that was far beyond my budget, I live alone, I work 2 jobs and soon I am starting a 3rd job, I have no family here, leaving my cat and dog to be my only family, the only ones I come home to after work, the ones that get me to wake up everyday and do my best to give them the life they deserve, and suddenly I feel as though I have let my boy Frank down knowing I cant help him. I spent hours applying and calling for loans, credit care and was denied due to some recent financial hardship and my own health declining, at the end the only option was euthanasia, i felt the world around me collapse and was inconsolable, Frank is only 3 years old, he is sweetest, most lovable guy, hes shy and gentle, and love to fall asleep in my arms or on the pillow next to mine, the idea of losing him was not even comprehensible. He is bestfriends with my dog Dallas and I cant imagine one without the other. Once I had no choice other than to accept euthanasia, I was taken back to my room by Kristin Miller, the hospital administrator, we had not met formally yet other than her passing by as I sobbed quietly in the lobby, she sat me down privately and told me how she normally did not work sundays, but believed something told her she needed to be there that Sunday, that being Frank and I, a divine intervention of sorts, as I had never gone to their ER and it was not even the one closest to my apartment, but something told me to go there that morning. She comforted me and listened to me tell him how I ended up in the hardships in recent time. She understood how much Frank means to me, hes not just another cat, he is my baby, my little bestie, I would do absolutely anything for my cat and dog. She advocated for us financially and was determined to find her own solution for us so Frank could have a chance, they called a hospital further south and told another Veterinarian our situation, he agreed to take us in and do the needed procedure and treatment/hospitalization for a price that I could afford, she went to the back to grab Frank and give him back to, I sobbed overwhelmed knowing he has a chance and she was overjoyed for me, I hugged her sobbing and thanked her profusely. Thank you to the entire team at this clinic, I am beyond grateful for the quick work and comfort you brought Frank. Kristin Miller, thank you so so so much for finding a solution for us, you are the reason Frank is alive right now, you saved me and my dog from our biggest heartbreak and a chance for another 10-15 happy years with our favorite little dude. Thank you Emerald City Emergency Clinic🩶

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Brought my cat in at 3 PM, Wasnt able to pick her up until Midnight. They gave her an injection without consulting me, for a symptom I never said she had. Took one Xray and charged me 1000! During the ENTIRE TIME my cat was there i never had one phone call to update me about her diagnosis or how she was doing. I had to call them every time and then wait for a call back. And even getting a phone call back took hours! When I left my cat there the receptionist told me it would be about an hour, and no more than 2 hours at the most before I heard from the doctor. It was more like 4 hours and I had to call them!! When I did, It was suggested I leave her over night to monitor her, give her IV fluids and that would be an additional 4 grand! To the 500 i already gave them. And the 4 grand would require a deposit. I asked how much and she said 4 thousand. Thats not a deposit! Thats paying upfront, and I was offered no alternative. I was told my cat would receive no additional medical services unless I paid the 4 grand! I wish I had known that payment was expected in full before any treatment was given. Although I did end up taking my cat home that night with no treatment given to her, the next day my cat was back to her normal self. Which leads me to believe what the doctor said was going on with my cat was an outright lie! She just wanted my cat to stay over night, do nothing for her and charge me 4 grand for it! The doctor was RUDE, I wasted my time and money and my cat was forced to be locked up in her carrier the entire time she was there,9 hours! there was never a diagnosis or any treatment given and No updates given unless I called them! This place is only about making money. The worst vetranarian hospital ever!

Rene, we’re truly sorry to hear that your experience with us was less than satisfactory. We understand how stressful it can be when a beloved pet is unwell, and we regret that you left feeling disappointed in the care provided. At Emerald City Emergency Clinic, our goal is to deliver both high-quality medical treatment and compassionate communication. We understand that we fell short of your expectations, and for that, we apologize. We recognize that wait times and communication delays can exacerbate an already difficult situation, especially in a busy emergency setting. We continually strive to improve in these areas, and your feedback helps us pinpoint where we can make enhancements. We also want to clarify that all diagnostics and treatment recommendations are made based on each pet’s presenting symptoms and medical needs—not financial motivation. We aim to present every client with the information they need to make the best decision for their pet, including cost estimates and options for care. We are sorry if these conversations felt rushed or unclear. If you’re open to it, we would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly and gain a better understanding of your experience. Our team is here to listen and learn, and we’d be grateful for the chance to discuss your experience in more detail. Please feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience by calling (206) 634-9000 or emailing us at ece_mgr@lakefieldvet.com. Wishing you and your cat continued health and comfort, Kristin Miller Hospital Administrator

Thank you to the staff and vet for helping my sweet Charlie. Everyone was so kind and patient with me during the hardest moments of my life. Dr. McElroy sat with me on the floor while I cried with my girl in my arms. Thank you for your kind and gentleness Dr. McElroy, I will never forget that.

I would not go here for an animal emergency. They are extremely slow to communicate any information and disappear. I took a stray cat there to find out the microchip number which should take less than a minute. She got the microchip number then put us in a room for 30 minutes. She then proceeded to tell me that the microchip pulled up no owner information and to keep the cat, which is not the next step for trying to find a pet's owner. Thankfully, I double checked the microchip number myself and found the owner's contact information. There was not a single other person or animal in the clinic so I don't understand why it took 30 minutes to tell my incorrect information. Dont go here with an urgent pet need.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Taylor. Our team works hard to provide clients with the best support possible, and we apologize that this wasn’t your experience. We can assure you that we were not purposely taking our time or ignoring you. We understand that we did not have clients in our lobby when you were here and how that may look. We did have multiple hospitalized pets that needed our immediate attention. We are grateful you took the time to bring a stray to us in hopes to find the owners. We truly appreciate you sharing your experience and we will take this opportunity to learn from it as a team. Please reach out to ECEStaff@lakefieldvet.com or +1 206-634-9000 if you would like to further discuss your experience.

Had such an amazing experience with Jordan S. and the new receptionist (so sorry I forgot your name!). As a first-time dog owner, I had a lot of questions, and they were both incredibly kind and helpful. The receptionist gave me tips I wouldn’t have even thought to ask about, and Jordan took the time to sit with me and explain everything so clearly. Hands down the best service I’ve ever had at a vet — 10/10! And I'll keep the photo of my dog forever!

I just got home with my cat from here, and I wanted to leave a review as soon as possible. The team was so attentive even though there were many serious cases coming in throughout the day. I was updated when necessary, and I never had a doubt she was in great hands. They were very clear about instructions with medication, what to watch for, and when to come back in for more tests if necessary. I was given the option for more testing to ease any worries, but I was not pushed at all, as I am seeing in another review. If my pets ever need emergency care again I will come back here no question. Thank for you for taking such great care of my Willow 💛

I did not have the best experience with this emergency clinic. Communication was poor—they weren’t proactive with updates, and I often felt left in the dark about my puppy’s condition. It didn’t seem like they were focused on finding the best solution for her, but rather the most expensive one. I struggled to trust that they were making decisions in her best interest. They kept her at the clinic without actually providing treatment for hours, and when we were finally able to see her, we learned she’d been given pain medication without any prior notice. She was dizzy, shivering, and looked worse than when we left her. When I asked why her condition had deteriorated, the receptionist brushed me off, saying he didn’t have a medical background—completely unhelpful and dismissive. The entire experience added unnecessary stress during an already emotional time, and I felt they were not considerate or compassionate throughout. I wouldn’t feel comfortable trusting them with my pet again.

I went here yesterday, due to my cat having not eaten in a few days. at first the staff was very nice and accommodating, that is until they inspected her. They came back and said that she was having a lot of abdominal pain when they pressed down on her, which i found weird because she never yelped like they claim she did when i checked her in the very same way before we got there. They then quoted me 1800 for only diagnostics, and when i had a hard time stomaching that price the orange haired receptionist looks me in and said “your cat is very very sick” which truly felt like a way to scare me into just paying the price (later i read reviews of them scaring other people into paying more than they needed to for procedures their animals didn’t have to have done) I tell them I can’t pay that, they immediately present me with a new bill that’s about half the price, they again stress the urgency, I comply. after the x-ray is finshed, the doctor with the clumpy eyelashes comes in and tells me she need and emergency operation, something is stuck in her intestine, and it will cost me $5-6k. i finally get up and leave (after paying my $700 diagnostic bill) and take her to a different vet, one with better reviews that seems to be better trusted by the public. Her utuerus was infected and simply needed and emergency spay, a $1500 surgery.

I had a great experience with Emerald City Emergency Clinic. I brought my senior dog in after a few days of abnormal gastrointestinal distress. Clinic staff were responsive and kind, and our wait time was very reasonable given the fact that there were other clients waiting. Dr. Fukuzato was thorough in her exam and explained everything that needed to be assessed in detail. While it was emotional having to leave my dog overnight, staff kept me regularly informed on her condition and took great care of her. My only suggestion would be to ask clients before adding prescription food if it's not essential, but overall, I was very satisfied with our experience. I (and my dog) feel very grateful for the compassionate people who work at Emerald City Emergency!

I cannot say enough good things about Emerald City Emergency Clinic. My senior dog Dexter was brought in after vomiting blood. They took him in promptly and efficiently. I was able to wait in a small private area which made the experience less anxiety inducing. The entire staff was so kind and compassionate. The care instructions are clear and easy to follow. I can't recommend this place enough- they made a stressful experience as positive as possible.

As a traveling veterinarian who does not have her own clinic in town, I rely on my trusted colleagues to care for my animals. When my dog started throwing up almost daily and none of my home remedies were working to resolve the issue, I took him in to ECER for evaluation. Thankfully they had the ability to perform endoscopy of his upper gastrointestinal tract that revealed he had significant gastric ulcer. He was treated in the hospital and sent home with medications to continue treatment for the next 30 days. I’m happy to report that he’s no longer vomiting and is back to his healthy, happy self! I can’t speak highly enough about the professionalism, compassion and care that this team provides for their patients. Whenever my friends and family in Seattle ask me for a recommendation, I send them to ECER every time.

I took my cat Bode in after he was at an emergency vet clinic and it was Dr. Fukuzato who was able to determine that his bladder was full of urinary crystals. The other vet clinic did not diagnose this but wanted us to keep him there for 48+ hours at an exceedingly expensive rate. Our sweet Bode was in so much pain, but knowing that very invasive surgery was needed, Dr. Fukuzato did not pressure us in any way to proceed with surgery, we made the very hard but necessary decision to let Bode to make his way across the rainbow. Dr. Fukuzato had also helped us with another geriatric cat and had made sure we were getting the most helpful information and helping us make the best healthcare decisions for our family members. Dr. Fukuzato treats all of her pets like her own pet family members.

I had to bring my kitty in after a toxic exposure. I’ll start by saying that I’m surprised the ratings here are as low as they are because I felt it was overall a very positive experience. I called them and told them the story over the phone, where they told me immediately to come in. As soon as we arrived, they took Kitty back for initial blood work and cleaning. The vet talked over the plan with me, helped me to call ASPCA to make sure we were following expert recommendations, and told me the general plan. She brought kitty back out so I could give her some last minute cuddles. She ultimately ended up staying at Emerald City for about 48 hours and the staff were truly excellent updating me on how things were going. They called multiple times to update me on blood work and how things were looking which I really appreciated. My kitty had a bad reaction to one of the procedures and they called me right away to tell me about it and what they were doing next. They also let me come in and visit with her for a bit. It was quite an expensive weekend (3k for bloodwork, fluids, the two day stay and follow up on day 3), but I think that’s just how things are unfortunately. I would definitely take kitty back if she needed it—which hopefully she doesn’t!

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! This clinic is a money fraud operation. They scared us by claiming our dog needs surgery, kept him for 30 hours under drugs and without food despite our attempts to take him back home. Then eventually charged us $10000 without finding anything wrong or performing any major medical surgery or procedure. This was one of the worst experiences we’ve had and it left us and the dog traumatized. “Dr” Fukuzato showed no empathy or compassion, and either have no idea what she is doing, or simply is just a money hungry person. Seriously this place is a scam and needs to be closed.

We know how stressful it is to see a beloved pet go through a serious medical issue, and we truly appreciate the trust you placed in Emerald City Emergency Clinic to care for Leo. Our team carefully evaluated Leo based on his symptoms and medical history, performing diagnostics to assess his condition. X-rays revealed gastric foreign material, poor gut motility, and concern for a possible obstruction. After discussions with his family, hospitalization was approved to provide IV fluids and supportive care. Endoscopy showed severe gastritis and ulceration, along with granular material in the stomach, though no distinct obstruction could be removed. A nasogastric tube was placed to aid in his recovery, and continued monitoring was recommended. We remained in close communication with Leo’s family throughout his stay, discussing his progress and next steps. While repeat imaging showed ongoing gastric material, there was no evidence of a full obstruction. Continued hospitalization for supportive care was strongly advised, but ultimately, Leo’s family decided to take him home with medications for ongoing management. We understand how difficult these decisions can be and how challenging it is to navigate an emergency situation. Our team is committed to providing compassionate, thorough care while supporting pet owners in making the best choices for their pets. We sincerely hope Leo is doing well and that his recovery has been smooth. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can offer any further support.
