They were so helpful and understanding! I would definitely go back to them if we find ourselves in another urgent situation with our pet.

They saved my cat. We brought our cat Ramses in during a life-threatening emergency after a different emergency vet in the area dismissed us and his condition became dire. The entire team here was amazing, especially Dr. Karl. He was under critical care for several days, and all of the vets were knowledgeable and patient. Communication was excellent throughout his stay with consistent updates. Pricing was very transparent and about what you’d expect for an emergency vet. They walked us through all medical and pricing options without any judgment and helped coordinate transfer when we decided to seek specialty care after he was stabilized. I will only bring my animals here for emergency care in the future.

They saved my baby Diego’s life. The night we arrived the staff immediately went into action to save my puppy’s life. They were experiencing low staffing and a high patient volume, but still did their best to care for every patient that arrived. They were honest and transparent about wait times as well as where we were in the process. If you come expecting hand in foot, unfortunately this isn’t that kind of place. Don’t go to an emergency room expecting primary vet treatment, because the difference is one is treating regular pets who aren’t in critical conditions and the other has sometimes minutes to make decisions and needs to rush through formalities to make the best decision for your pet. I feel people tend to forget that portion and when I read other reviews I felt they were a bit too critical of the staff here imo. I can’t imagine the amount of mental load it takes to have to see so many critical pets, they still try to meet you with empathy while also having to compartmentalize that themselves so they aren’t constantly crying or showing weakness when you need strength. Each time I called for a check in I was met with kindness, and even though sometimes the calls would take a while due to active critical patients needing help first, they’d get me the answer I was looking for. Overall I would 100% recommend them, I took my baby Diego to my primary vet the day after release and he said the incision the doctor made was perfect and the care plan they gave was great. With the reviews they have it made me worried it would be different, so I wanted to give my own experience to others wouldn’t feel so deterred.

Last night we brought our cat Caesar to the emergency vet after he came in from outside with his paw profusely bleeding. Going to an emergency clinic is every pet owner’s nightmare, but the staff here made a very stressful situation feel manageable with their kindness and professionalism. Even though we had to wait a long time, it’s important to remember that emergency clinics see pets based on the severity of their condition, not the order of arrival. If another pet is in worse shape, they will be treated first. If anything, we were grateful that Caesar was stable enough to wait. Emergency clinics also operate 24/7, including holidays, and are equipped with specialized medical equipment and medications that most regular vet offices don’t have. Because of that, the care is understandably more expensive, but the service they provide to pet owners in urgent situations is invaluable. I also want to give a special shoutout to the vet assistant who helped us (I wish I could remember her name). She had such an upbeat attitude, kept us updated throughout the process, clearly communicated what they were doing for Caesar, and patiently answered all of our questions, even after Caesar got scared and scratched her (sorry again!). She even went out of her way to adjust our bill with some more affordable options, which significantly reduced the final cost. What is a pet and pet owner’s worst day is simply another day at work for these professionals. We’re incredibly grateful for the care and compassion they showed us and our cat. While we hope we never need an emergency vet again, we’re thankful this team was there when we did.

Response from the owner

Thank you, Ally, for sharing your experience with us. Caesar was such a wonderful boy, and we all truly adored him. He handled everything so bravely, and it was an absolute pleasure caring for him. Please give him some extra love from all of us—we’re wishing him a smooth and speedy recovery!

The absolute worst place to bring a pet. We had a cat who needed immediate attention, the whole thing was an absolute nightmare. To begin with, the outside door is locked and won’t open until someone is at the front desk who can open it for you. If you have an emergency don’t come here. When we walked in we were given paperwork to fill out and payments to be made upfront before they would even take the pet in. That day we unfortunately lost our pet. While taken back to say our goodbyes, the workers who were all crowded in the back were constantly chatting and laughing while we were grieving and putting our pet down. Mind you these workers were sitting just feet from us and were very rude and unprofessional.

Response from the owner

Perla, we're truly sorry to hear about your experience and the loss of your pet. For safety and security reasons, our doors remain locked. That said, we sincerely apologize if this added to your stress during an already urgent situation. We understand how difficult and stressful that moment must have been, and we’re sorry that our intake process added to that experience. While paperwork and initial payments are part of our standard procedures, we never want them to feel like a barrier to care—especially in urgent situations. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly and learn more about your experience. Please feel free to contact us at #281-446-4900 or email us at hum_mgr@lakefieldvet.com at your convenience.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU LOVE THEM I never imagined I would be writing a review like this. Our 4-year-old bulldog, Daisy, was playing when she suddenly began choking on a ball. It happened fast. One minute she was running around like her normal, happy self, and the next she was in distress. We rushed her to this veterinary clinic in a complete panic, terrified and praying they could save her. When we arrived, it was clearly an emergency. Daisy was struggling to breathe. Instead of immediately taking her back to attempt to remove the obstruction or assess her airway, we were stopped at the front desk and told we needed to discuss payment before anything could be done. In that moment, time was everything. Every second mattered. While our dog was actively choking, we were being asked about payment and costs before anyone physically intervened to try to help her. We understand that veterinary services are not free and that clinics have policies. But in a life-or-death emergency, compassion and urgency should come first. Daisy did not make it. We brought her there trusting that immediate medical attention would be the priority. Instead, the process felt transactional at a time when we were desperate and terrified. Losing her was devastating on its own. The way it unfolded at the clinic made an already traumatic experience even more painful. Daisy was only four years old. She was family. Loving, playful, and full of personality. We will carry the heartbreak of that day forever. I hope no other pet owner has to experience what we did during an emergency.

Brought my sons dog cause she was throwing up and had diarrhea but also was just not her normal self and we are worried about her. However this place is not the place to bring your animal cause they don’t care about the animal all they care about is the money they had the audacity to send the front desk person to collect money and tell me my dog needed to be hospitalized and it was going to be 4000 and I hadn’t even talked to the vet at all and I told her that. Then vet comes in and tells me different and that they hadn’t even really examined her but what they normally do and then asked about $. Then another person came in with an estimate 650 for blood work and fee I said ok waited thinking ok my dog is getting taken care of wrong they came in again about $ and then refused to do anything until they got it. They came in 2 more times about $ and still haven’t examined my poor dog. Worst place to bring you animal wouldn’t even recommend them to my worst enemy. Money hungry people of if I could I would give them a negative star

Hi Samantha, We are very sorry to hear about your experience and the stress it caused for both you and Minnie. We understand how upsetting it must have been to feel your pet’s care was delayed or overshadowed by financial discussions. During your visit, the doctor did speak with you about Minnie and presented multiple treatment options, which you declined. Our team always strives to provide clear communication about care and costs, and we apologize if this process felt overwhelming or stressful. We were happy to not charge you the examination fee in light of your financial constraints, despite having a consultation with the doctor. We would like the opportunity to discuss your experience further and address any concerns you may have. Please contact our management team at (281) 446-4900 or hum_mgr@lakefieldvet.com at your convenience. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Zero stars ! On my visit at 3 am there was no urgency at all my dog was clearly having an emergency. I was checking in to be seen and my dog had a bowel movement at the check in counter and was leaking vaginal fluids I let the lady checking me in know she got up went and got a couple pairs of gloves and sat them on the counter in front of me, she sat back down to finish the check in I asked where I could get paper towels she told me, so I cleaned the area finished checking in and waited almost 20 minutes. They took the information they needed and took her to the back almost an hour later the vet came in and gave me the diagnosis and an estimate I could not pay for the treatment so I asked for pian meds for her. I paid $270.00 for the evaluation, ultrasound and the meds. Their quote was for $8,000.00 to $10,000.00 for treatment. I waited for my vet to open and the treatment was $4,000.00. The price wasn't even the bad part. I could hear several people in the back horsing around and being loud, when I threw away the paper towels I used to clean up my dogs mess I saw that there were large dried drops of I don't know what in several places on the floor and when I left an hour later the area i cleaned with dry paper towel was still there. I felt so uncomfortable and just had a very uneasy feeling the whole time I was there.

This was a horrible place I was urged to go to a vet clinic because my dog was injured from a car hitting her, when we called she said it would be a 1 to 2 hour wait for someone to see her!!!!! Once we got there they proceeded to charge me first before even taking her to the back and they just gave me false illusions about my dog surviving, and kept adding money to the medical bill and they were very rude the guy taking care of us was impatient and not considering the pain me and my husband were going though and kept trying to rush us to make a decision wether we could afford to save our dog or not and had no sympathy for her they had my dog in pain. They had her suffering and would not start treating her until I signed papers and paid money!!!! I had to transfer my dog somewhere else where they told me the truth and I had to laid my dog to rest after a bunch of suffering being pregnant and going through all that was no ok and unfair I wish my dog could have been put down earlier rather to be left to suffer I will never recommend this trash place to anyone they are just MONEY HUNGRY should be ashamed of themselves!! This places deserves ZERO STARS

Jocelyn, I'm truly sorry to hear about your distressing experience. It’s heartbreaking to go through such a difficult situation with a beloved pet. Our clinic operates on a triage-based system, and while there may be a wait to speak with a doctor, every pet is assessed promptly to determine the urgency of care. The doctor discussed various options for your pet's care, provided pain management, and recommended transfer to a specialty hospital for further treatment, which you have elected to pursue. Your feedback is important, and we take it seriously. We encourage you to reach out to our management team at 281-446-4900 or email hum_mgr@lakefieldvet.com to discuss this further. Your insights can help us improve our service and ensure a more compassionate experience for all pet owners.

I have been here multiple times over the years with my 2 dogs and I have always had a good experience. Granted it can expensive but when your pet needs assistance in the middle of the night money takes a back seat. That being said, the last time I took my dog in 01/26 (she had pancreatitis) because I thought she was dehydrated. They determined she was properly hydrated and checked her vitals and didn't even charge me the full exam fee so they aren't all about money and I couldn't recommend them enough

⭐️ 1 STAR DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU LOVE THEM-Wish I could give 0 I do not even know where to start, but I HAVE to warn people about Animal Emergency Clinic Northeast because this was one of the most traumatic experiences I have ever had with my dog. My dog was extremely sick throwing up and having diarrhea and I was terrified she was going to die. I came there looking for help compassion and urgency and instead I was met with cold attitudes no empathy and nonstop pressure to put my dog down. They immediately acted like she was not going to make it and kept recommending euthanasia like it was no big deal. What made it worse is that it felt like they did not care about saving her life at all they only cared about the money. The whole vibe was money first pet last. I was crying my eyes out and they just stared at me with dry faces like they had no souls. No compassion no comfort no reassurance NOTHING. I even overheard staff talking with an attitude about how bad my dog’s vomit smelled like they were annoyed my baby was sick. As if she could control what was happening to her. That alone told me everything I needed to know about the type of people working there. My daughter was so heartbroken by how cold and insensitive they were that she stormed out crying. When she came back instead of being understanding or trying to help the situation they were STILL insensitive and pushed euthanasia again saying things like you gave her a good life while she was here. That is a disgusting thing to say to someone who came in desperate for help. They charged 750 dollars for fluid and antibiotics. I paid 40 dollars for the same medicine elsewhere previously. Thank God I followed my gut and did NOT listen to them. I took my dog to Dr Hanna and the team at Houston Spay and Neuter Some Angels and they saved my dog’s life. Here we are months later and my baby is thriving healthy and living her best life. If I would have listened to Animal Emergency Clinic Northeast my dog would be gone today. This place lacks empathy compassion and humanity. If you love your pet run and do not take them here. Go somewhere that actually cares about animals and the people who love them. To me this place felt like a check and a morgue. GO TO DR.HANNAH SHE IS AN ANGEL 😇 DO NOT GO HERE TRUST ME!

Money hungry and they don’t really know what they are doing. Took my dog here a few weeks ago for vomiting after eating a chicken bone and they never gave me any real solutions. Charge you 125 just to see your pet even if it’s a dire emergency. Even if you have to come back the same week they’ll charge u again do the same thing prescribe you some overpriced meds that may or may not help your animal. No empathy just money hungry. Took over 700$ from me and didn’t solve the issue had to figure it out myself after our 3rd trip to the vet that they didn’t know what they were doing.

Took my dog in last night (New Years Day) after ingesting fireworks. They were highly unprofessional. The lady that tried to tell us it would be around $4000-$6000 at the front desk had sunglasses on and was obviously hung over and quite frankly very rude and was almost laughing when she said the number. When asked if they would administer charcoal- Which is standard with toxicity poisoning, they refused and said that they can’t be sure he ate fireworks. I ended up spending over $700 for them to administer fluids. After an hour they said it wasn’t working and without spending the $6000 (which they claimed would save his life) then we should look into euthanasia. Guess they wanted their money one way or another. Do NOT go here. It is a complete scam.

Lauren, We are truly sorry to hear about your experience and the distress you and your dog went through. Our team strives to provide compassionate and professional care to every patient, and we take feedback about unprofessional behavior very seriously. Regarding your visit, emergency care costs can vary depending on the treatment required and the severity of the case. The decision to administer certain treatments, like charcoal, is based on the veterinarian's assessment of the specific situation and the potential risks and benefits for your pet. We understand that this can be frustrating in urgent circumstances. At our emergency hospital, we pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive and non-discriminatory environment where every employee is respected, regardless of medical conditions. Medically approved items, including medical glasses, are fully supported and accommodated, ensuring our staff can perform their duties safely and comfortably. Above all, our team is highly trained, dedicated, and unwavering in their commitment to delivering professional, compassionate, and reliable care to every patient, every day. We would like the opportunity to review your case in detail and address your concerns directly. Please contact our hospital manager at your earliest convenience so we can better understand what happened and work toward a resolution. Our number is 281-446-4900 or email us at hum_mgr@lakefieldvet.com to discuss this further. Your insights can help us improve our services.

This place doesn't care about your dog. All they care about is money took my dog in there. Cuz his foot had a large laceration in it. They wanted to charge me $1200. I had 700 nd all they said is they could just bandage him up and send me on my way, and then the doctor had the nerve to say my dog had an attitude. And he should be neutered and have behavioral lessons Lady, if you had a cut on your leg, you'd be mean too,I wouldn't go here. Well, I just used iodine cleaned it every day. Kemp, it bandaged, and it healed a 100%. Don't waste your money on these inflated vets.

The ER is the last place any pet owner wants to be but the team here made getting the care my standard poodle needed so much less stressful. After waking up to her experiencing symptoms of GDV and every non-emergency clinic we called telling us they couldn't see her, we rushed her to AECNE and I'm so glad we did. They helped us make the best financial decisions with our pet insurance to get my pup the care she needed. We were treated with such kindness and compassion, something that can truly be hard to find in the emergency medical field. The peace of mind that professionals who truly care are taking care of my animals will always be worth the price. I can't recommend them enough. (Translated by Google) I took my kitten for a consultation for parasites and they handed him back to me covered in poop in the backpack I brought him in, and I had to take him back like that because they refused to clean him up. If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. My cat was dying of heart failure and they turned us away. Instead, the receptionist slapped a piece of paper in my face and told me to "call someone else who doesn't have a wait". She was rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional. Do not waste your time here.

A stray cat wandered into our yard and was cornered by our dog; the injuries were severe. AECNE was prompt and compassionate and offered humane euthanasia under their Good Samaritan policy. We are grateful for the service under very sad circumstances. During the distress, my husband left a personal item behind. They called us, and we were able to retrieve the item. Thank you to the staff.

We took our dog, Bandit, there on Oct. 26 to be put down. The vet tech and veterinarian could not have been more compassionate. They were incredible.

YOUR PET WILL DIE/BE PUT TO SLEEP I was working in another state when my kitten got bad so my room mate took him here. They charged me 1500$ for tests for my kitten who was dying then after they told me it'll be another 3k/night just to keep him there overnight, my room mate had already left, I said that I couldn't afford it and they gave me no other choice but to put him down, so they did and didn't return me the $1500 even though nothing was done and he was put down :( no care for the animals, go elsewhere. Never seen a place so greedy and with such horrible serve or well LACK OF SERVICE.

Please dont take your pet here. They dont have all the equipment needed. I spent $800 here just to go somewhere else. I was sent to the BluePearl in Spring Cypress. Go there instead. I want my star back.

If only I could give 0 stars… Absolute crookery. I live in the country and my dog was bitten by a snake. My normal vet had their number on his after hours answering machine, so I called and told them I was coming. They said the admittance fee was $164. Well it turns out, that really was the admittance fee-that did not include seeing an actual tech or vet. That was a whole other charge. They tried to get me to pay $1000 for them to shave the tiny area on her neck to just see what kind of wound it was- at that time I wasn’t even sure it was a snake bite. Then they told me to administer antivenom, that would be another $3000. Different people kept coming in and contradicting each other about courses of action, each with a newly prepared estimate, and then telling me that the other techs/vets I’d just spoken to had given me inaccurate information. I know they are (supposedly) providing services and not charity, but still. I told them the money I’d had set aside was to attend a funeral of a loved one who’s in Hospice right now out of state. I’m also a teacher, so ya their $4-9000 estimate was killing me. Oh but wait- they could offer me a credit card/plan… No. I left after paying them about $400 to do absolutely nothing. They had originally taken her “to an exam room” while I filled out paperwork and they tried to bamboozle me. When we were leaving, I had to go get her out of a kennel bc she wouldn’t come out. So basically, I arrived, they put her in a kennel, I paid $400, and I left. They did absolutely nothing else except a fecal/blood smear. This morning, I took her to my normal vet. He said that it was a snake bite, probably moccasin or copperhead, because there was no necrosis. He said antivenom is typically only used on rattlesnake and coral snake bites, and can actually cause more damage than benefit if it’s given and not necessary. He gave her 2 shots, filled 2 prescriptions, and thoroughly examined her, all for $137. So if your dog CAN wait, definitely WAIT. These people will just try to rip you off and upcharge you and who knows how qualified they are, because they all kept contradicting each other and not one of them said what my real vet said this morning.

Reception lady at the front had the WORST attitude. Were clearly coming here bc it’s our last option hence it’s an emergency clinic. Otherwise I wouldn’t be coming here. Came in with my dog having a allergic reaction in already worried & u think the best solution is ur nasty attitude? Don’t come here we went from an hr wait to 3hr wait. Bc they said if a dog gets into critical condition the wait gets longer. I’ve seen other actual emergency clinic work fast.

STAY AWAY!! I rushed my cat here in an emergency because he was struggling to urinate. From beginning the focus seemed more on money than on my pet’s wellbeing. The day of his hospitalization, I was given an estimate that covered 24 hours of care. The very next morning, I was suddenly called and told I had to pay another $1,300 just to keep him for an additional 12 hours — even though I had asked multiple times how long he would be hospitalized and was told “24 hours.” When I pressed for clarity, one staff member even looked at me like I was foolish and said “24 hours,” which made the sudden extra charges feel misleading at best. After discharge, when my cat continued to struggle, I called for help. Instead of offering guidance or compassion, I was simply told to “call around” to find another vet, even though my primary vet was closed. For a hospital that charges so much, the lack of support and empathy was shocking. Emergency care is always expensive, and I came in prepared for that. What I wasn’t prepared for was the dismissiveness, the lack of compassion, and the feeling that my pet’s suffering was secondary to collecting more money. Pet owners deserve honesty and care during emergencies. Unfortunately, that’s not what I experienced here

Would not go back. Got there and looked at the reviews beforehand so I did not expect anything good but it was the only urgent vet place (without an appointment, after reaching out to multiple ones close to me) I could find. My dog got hit by a car (due to my sisters negligence when she was looking after her). Waited almost 2 hours to be seen. They gave her some pain meds or whatever it was and said she needed to stay overnight. Understood, but then they said it'll probably be over 7 grand for one overnight and that someone had to look after her 24/7 and said she won't make it if we don't. Where am I gonna get 7k for one night? 7 nights, sure but 1? Then told me to apply for a credit card and left to let me "make my decision".. I messaged my friend about her clinic that one of my friends go to that she said her vet is fine seeing her right now if I went. Paid the fee and left. Other vet looked at her and said she'll be fine with some pain meds but just got a sprain ankle, and a little trauma to her side but it was just bruising. Took her home and she was fine the next day. Carried her to the bathroom and fed her for a week and she recovered.. seriously? "She won't make it if you don't keep her here" -_- ridiculous. If you aren't local or go there often they won't prioritize you. I was there before 3 people and they went in first, no appointment too btw.

As most reviews warn: stay away from this place. I felt not much real care or compassion for sick animals there. It just felt like a business making money off of people’s concern to get their sick pets well. Sadly they are the only place in the Humble area that is 24 hours and emergencies happen when a caring vet office has closed for the day. This place knows they are the only option in the area and I think they take advantage of this and feel they can charge as much as they like. Their prices are outrageous and the worker actually warned me of this when we checked in. I ended up going elsewhere with my dog that seemed to be seizing and she then got both better and cheaper care. Going there time I wasted about 2 hours getting my dog the care she needed. Especially if you have limited funds don’t waste time going there.

I took my dog last night after a few episodes of severe vomiting, and they were able to find the problem. Within an hour they were prepping him for abdominal surgery. The vet and staff were very caring, understanding, and explained everything in detail so we could feel comfortable. I'm so thankful for their quick actions and professionalism. We're now at home recovering ❤️ Bean was cared for by Dr. Keyes and tech Zoei💖

Pros: kind front office staff and vet techs Cons: rude and incompetent vets, way too expensive, no real care provided, an unusually high amount of euthanasia going on TLDR; I'm never coming back here, and unless you need a pet euthanized (or you love spending money to NOT have your pets treated) you shouldn't come here either. I thought my cat was having an allergic reaction to something because he was having trouble breathing. I brought him here since our regular vet was closed. Got told it would be a 2hr wait; there were 3 other pets there and they were all being euthanized. A tech checks my cat and takes him back. The 2 techs I worked with were great. When I finally saw the vet he swore that all his labs were perfect and nothing was wrong with him, then suddenly got very rude with me accusing me of wasteing their time with a non-emergency visit: he was having trouble breathing, if that's not worth an ER vist I don't know what is! Then he also accused me of giving my cat too many treats--not even just over feeding, but specifically treats (which I don't give him anyway)--and says that he needs steroids. Lol what? You just told me there was NOTHING wrong with him, why would he need steroids? The vet could not explain. Not only that, but my cat has a heart murmur (so steroids are a bad idea) and chronic pancreatitis, and you didn't catch either of these things? I get that the vet was having a bad day after having to euthanize so many pets, but you really shouldn't take it out on people. So they charged me almost $600 to get yelled at, no treatment for my cat, and wasted 4hrs of my time. Took my cat elsewhere and they confirmed that he was in fact having an allergic reaction, and even told me what he was allergic to. All for slightly less than $100! Cat received the needed treatment and is now back to being fine, no thanks to these guys. How the heck did you guys misdiagnose an allergic reaction?! Absolutely cannot recommend this place.
